Good selection but no one on tills in the evening, I?ll go to Lidl and Aldi it?s so much easier, especially Lidl who have people on the tills, why do these big companies always think people like using electronic tills

Normally good supermarket. Wasn't very busy for a Thursday evening. Not much on shelves, no cucumber, no onions, very strange

Everything just seems really expensive for what it is, even with the nectar offers. A very inhumane feel to the whole place too, with many self serve tills and very few traditional manned checkouts. Having to scan your receipt before you are released and allowed to make your way to the exit makes it feel like passport control rather than a supermarket and even then, the security alarm seems to go off frequently when people reach the exit anyway!

Sainsbury's need to drop their food prices down because it's too high for the customers to buy their food

I've been shopping at this store for well over a decade and I've reached the point of now going elsewhere.
The final push for me was the removal of all but a few staffed check outs and replacing them with countless self-checkout machines, and barriers which prevent you from leaving unless you've scanned a receipt.
I have hidden disabilities and using those machines is incredibly stressful and overwhelming, it takes me a long time and people either get annoyed or the machine stops working and you have to wait ages for help (not the staffs fault, there are just too many machines). In fact using self checkouts in general means grocery shopping takes a lot more time than it used to for everyone because none of us are trained to checkout!
The few belted check outs that still exist are barely ever staffed now and when they are there are huge queues. Being able to use the proper belted checkouts that are staffed means less abled folks like myself have a much more pleasant experience without the added anxiety and pressure of doing everything myself, and I can have a nice little chat to the staff member on duty which is important to my shopping experience as a customer.
The other issues are that the toilets in this store need refurbishing, the stock is constantly being moved around which is bewildering and annoying for regulars, and the quality of the fruit and veg is bad - they go off within a few days regardless of what the packet date says. They also stock a lot of products from the you-know-what-state and won't listen to calls for boycott.
The staff at this store are always helpful and friendly however, but from what I've seen whilst walking around the store for years I think they're being treated badly.
The customer service element of Sainsburys as a brand in this store is terrible now - you're expected to shop without speaking to anyone, just pass your hard earned money over to a machine and then have to 'prove' you deserve to leave with receipt barriers.
I now shop at Morrisons or ASDA which are cheaper, have better quality fruit and veg, and have staffed checkouts throughout the day.

The self service is tolerable..but having to bleep out with receipt is irritating.. I understand why though

Very massive Sainsbury's, they make you scan your receipt to get out of self checkout, treating all customers like criminals, one star.

Always a nice place to shop but prices not as competitive as they could be
