“I ordered a special delivery that didn't arrive in time, unfortunately my parcel was due to arrive on the first day of the postal strike. Our area postal workers went over and above to try to find the whereabouts of my parcel and even arranged to update me once he got back to the depot. The depot phoned me to inform me that the parcel wasnt there but if it did come over the strike period then it may be delivered by staff bought in to help with special deliveries etc. It didn't arrive.Its now the Monday and ive just recieved my parcel from our usual post worker. I cannot fault the postal workers at Dartford, they go over and above even when they are really busy, I know how frustrated and disappointed they all were that they couldnt retrieve my parcel and deliver it on time. I hope this is seen by the people that may employ cover staff for when our post workers arent working, its a tough job and one that needs understanding and professionalism not leaving a special delivery customer with no parcel and no information relating to why its late.After this experience I can honestly say that I fully support the reason for the strike action, good staff are hard to cone by, I'm in Bean, Dartford and our postal workers are better than good.”
