Went to buy some new aftershave and recieved great advice from the salesperson. Went though and tested a few different options before deciding what was right for me. Yes - you could buy the stuff cheaper on-line but you can't get that advice and service which is important if you're choosing something new.

So many items do not have price tickets in this shop. It drives me nuts! You either have to take items to the till - which means queuing if it's busy - or else find a member of staff on the shop floor and ask them. They can tell you straight away, if they are carrying a handheld device, and if said device is working. Alas, often this not the case, so they have to go and log on to one of the shop-floor computer terminals. By which time I've usually lost the will to live. But I must say the staff are extremely helpful and always deliver excellent customer service.

Always a positive shopping experience, even if sometimes not every item on the crockery shelves has a price!
A great range of products and many of their own brand items are stylish and affordable.
We had a tired newborn baby and the staff were incredibly friendly and supportive when we needed to feed and change the baby. The changing facilities were great although a few of the mats could do with being replaced.

Great place for almost anything from gifts for children to gifts for me. Prices are always great, yes it may be cheaper on Amazon but they are not paying for a store in Bluewater where you can look at the produce before you buy. They also have a price match guarantee.

Yes, all of the staff I encountered on my visit today scored 10/10 for friendliness. But actually what I needed was product knowledge and I'm afraid that's a mere 5/10 or less. One female assistant in soft furnishings must think she's working in the civil service. "That's not my department, you'll have to speak to those ladies over there" she muttered desperate to get shot of me. They were also in soft furnishings (just another part!).
John Lewis used to be a model for dependable service and consistent, reliable product knowledge. Based on my experience today at JL Bluewater I'd have been better off shopping on Amazon and using the buyer reviews on there to have my questions answered.
Finally their "never knowingly undersold" is dead in the water. They've added so many get out clauses to the revised policy, it's not worth even trying to claim.
Very disappointing!
