One of the most delicious meals we can ever remember. The atmosphere was delightful and we were greeted as it was our anniversary with a friendly welcoming card signed by the team. We would recommend it 10 out of 10

We did a farm table in the garden , had a tour around from the head gardener and had the head chef James cook on the bbq next too us whilst picking fresh produce from their own garden . We had a taster menu and wine pairing . Everything was stunning . A superb day

Very good lunch today using home grown produce. Plating a lot more precise than on earlier visits and service was very good. Michelin will be awarding a red star pretty soon Im sure.

Always love coming here.
The atmosphere is very calm, unstuffy, welcoming without being pretentious or flamboyant.
The passion for fresh ingredients, the love of food is obvious at every stage. The amount of thought and detail that goes into every single bite is exquisite. It is clear how many hours must go into crafting each course. The choice of two-sized menu option is excellent; the half acre was more than enough for us and any more would have detracted from the experience.
The staff are fabulous. Cheery, attentive but not overbearing, hugely knowledgeable. Even the new members of the team, being so well recruited and trained, are seamless members and we only discovered they were new when engaging them in a chat.
The drinks offerings are also very good; a great wine list as well as other cocktails, soft drinks, etc that continue the ethos.
This is one of our absolute favourites and doesnt disappoint.

A very special treat - dining experience at The Smallholding given to my wife for her birthday. The whole experience was faultless. The food beautifully presented and innovative. I would recommend the soft drink pairing. We'll be back!

What a fabulous little restaurant, situated in the beautiful Kent countryside.
We chose the 5 course menu known as the Half Acre menu.
Beside the restaurant is the vegetable/ kitchen garden where a vast majority of the ingredients come from, meat and fish are sourced from as local as possible.
The restaurant has a Michelin green star, one of the few in the UK.
The service was very friendly and knowledgeable. The chefs served some of the dishes, providing a deep insight into the huge amount of skill and passion put into each course.
We had one of the best meat courses we have eaten in a very long time.
The atmosphere is quite laid back and comfortable.
We have eaten at many 2 and 3 star Michelin restaurants, we have to say the Small Holding is right up there with them.
This is fine dining at its very best.
Highly recommended.
You need to book, parking is easy.

As always the magic is there in every dish. We tried the soft drink pairings and each one was home made from their own produce grown just outside the window. All the fruit and herbs combined perfectly with the food. The garden of England on a plate and in a glass, perfect.

The staff was very friendly and attentive (especially the young gentleman who served us)!
Definitely recommend. We also loved their sister establishment - Birchwood - at Taywell Farm.
