We visited for Sunday lunch while staying in the area. Lovely pub with a welcoming atmosphere. Our roast dinners were delicious, except for the beef, which was very fatty and tough. It was a shame as the lamb and the pork was delicious. When mentioned this to the staff, they apologised and took our comments back to the chef. The lovely lady serving us returned offering the chef's apologise and that the beef wasn't as good as usual. They offered both of our husbands a free dessert as a way of apology, which they accepted. The desserts were delicious and well-presented. We would recommend this lovely country pub, even though the beef was disappointing, just one of those things which sometimes happens.

Lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. Every table was full on the Friday night that our group of 5 went there for dinner, so it's a popular place. Good food, good service and a fair price. My strawberry sundae for dessert was photo-worthy and there were gasps of amazement as it was brought to the table! Would recommend booking in advance to ensure you get a table here.

Excellent food, but make sure you are hungry before you go, and beer. Well worth a visit for either a meal or a drink. Will certainly go back

Hubby and I went for Sunday lunch yesterday. We'd heard very good things about the food and we were certainly not disappointed! We both had the slow roasted pork. Excellent. So tender and succulent. Accompanying veg also really good, especially loved the cauliflower cheese. We shared a dessert, which was just as well, as the portion size is generous. We couldn't find fault with anything. Very friendly atmosphere and a nice cosy open fire. We will definitely be back. All the tables were occupied, so best to book ahead.

Wow what a difference, have not been to my local for a while after a very disappointing visit, but a change of ownership really had worked!
We went on a Sunday so it was roasts all round and they did not disappoint, 1st class ingredients prepared to perfection!
Highly recommended, we will be back!

This was my local for many years when I lived in the village. I now live in Ashford but I still return for the excellent food and atmosphere. Elsie and the team are so friendly and the pub is very cozy. Highly recommedned.
