Unfortunately had a bad experience here.
First we walk in and are asked what drinks we want? no menu, no price list or anything which was weird. Then we?re left for about 20 mins (again without a menu) and the waitress comes back to take our order but we don?t know what we want as we didn?t have a menu. We?re then told it?s written on the board near the front of the shop.
We order and get 2 dips with 2 pittas- this already takes about 30 mins. There?s maximum 4 tables taken, it?s pretty much empty, so we?re not sure why service takes so long. The pitta was covered in butter- I didn?t realise and ate it (labelled as vegan on the online menu and I specified vegan when ordering). But I?m lactose intolerant so I had some sickness that night and day after ?. The pitta also just came out of a bag, I saw through the window to the kitchen.
It then took 1.5 hours to get mains for 3 people. Two of us got gyros and one got a moussaka. We saw the chef get the moussaka from the freezer and cook it and gyros should be extremely quick to make. Mine was the vegan option- it was good but super dry as there was no tzatziki alternative.
About 30-40 minutes after we finished our starter the chef came out of the kitchen to ask if we were ready for our mains?? We were really confused as at this point we?ve been sat in the restaurant for over an hour and have only been served pitta and dips?
In summary I would absolutely not return. We got no food for free but we were offered a free drink which was nice. The waiters don?t seem to know much going on, the food isn?t fresh, there?s no menus, the online menu is different to the restaurant, they add butter to vegan dishes and the wait time was insane. Bare in mind this was when there were only a few tables taken? I can?t even imagine what this place is like on a busy night.

A taste of Greece in the heart of Kent.
A thoroughly enjoyable dinner, with authentic Greek flavours, and most importantly the sense of hospitality that?s the key ingredient of a Greek holiday.
I?m Greek myself and therefore quite selective and wary of Greek restaurants that are not owned by Greeks. However Kypseli lived up to its name and did justice to my homeland cuisine. Maria, the chef, cooks with Greek ingredients and created wonderful authentic flavours, but also went out of her way to accommodate my children?s taste. Hannah, our host, was delightful and ever so helpful - both of them created an atmosphere that really was as hospitable and friendly as any taverna on a Greek island. Thank you both for making our anniversary dinner so enjoyable!
If you are local and enjoy Greek food, I would wholeheartedly recommend Kipseli - five stars.

Had a beautiful lunch today with my family. We all had wraps, souvlaki and courgette and feta. Really nice, fresh ingredients and great service from the waitress too. I think this might be a new favourite of ours!

I?m going to be purely honest, this establishment is 100% the best Greek food I have had. The food is amazing, the chips are genuinely to die for, they are perfectly seasoned and cooked. I will definitely return to this place and it is definitely on my list of favourite places to eat, I would highly recommend to everyone looking for a tasty and authentic Greek meal.

Popped into this afternoon just for a drink for 2 people, asked staff if this was ok and could we sit in the back terrace. It was 3.15pm and was told that the back terrace was reserved for 5.30pm so no we couldn't sit there. Explained we only wanted a drink so we were 'allowed' to sit there, all be it reluctantly. Felt very unwelcome in the place....almost like we were a nuisance! The place was pretty empty so busyness wasn't an excuse and we did ask before we ordered if we could just come in for a drink. Wouldn't like to come for dinner/lunch based on today's experience which is a shame as the menu looked good.

Excellent food, fresh, quality and freshly made. Reasonable prices too.
Quaint restaurant, almost felt like we were in Greece.

Had dinner at this lovely little Greek taverna for the wife?s birthday. Food was amazing, nice chilled atmosphere, and brilliant staff (especially Hannah who deserves a pay rise!). Would highly recommend and will be booking another visit soon ??

Strange first visit back to Kypseli after their reopening the other day. Was made to order food before we had even sat at our table, and then had to ask to order drinks after we had been seated. The server couldn't remember which meat was in which dish, and quickly got distracted by another customer instead of checking with the kitchen. After we had eaten, we were presented with a card machine without us even asking for the bill - needless to say we felt rushed out of the place! A restaurant I have frequented many a time prior to their closure has lost its charm and I was quite disappointed with the service. Improvements could involve playing Greek taverna music, as opposed to tacky 'muzac', as well as printing some menus for customers to avoid craning your neck to the chalk board behind the counter, and above all better implementation of customer service formalities.

We are visiting the area and booked a table for dinner at Kypseli Kitchen last night. The food was delicious and the staff were considerate of my food intolerance. The restaurant also had a lovely atmosphere. We would definitely recommend Kypseli as a place to eat.

Love this place! Have eaten in with family for a special occasion, lovely food and great service. I have also had two takeaway chicken gyros, which each time blew my mind. So tasty. The chefs are clearly passionate about their food which is what makes this place so special. Can't recommend enough!

We had another amazing Kypseli experience of dinner last night. My third visit to this charming place, with wonderful food and people, love the open kitchen, so nice to be able to pass on compliments directly to the fab chefs!
