Booked for one night to go and see the nearby Bedgebury Chistmas lights and had a fantastic time. Arrived early and on probably their busiest day of the year, but they still fitted us in for lunch, and evening meals which we'd forgotten to book in advance. Food was excellent and breakfast ample and lovely quality. Only booked a basic room but it was very comfortable with some nice touches. The best bit was the friendliness of the staff, we were made to feel most welcome, and we will certainly stay there again. Highly recommended.

Came for lunch. Our host had fish and chips and seemed to enjoy it; my wife had the steak and kidney, which she really enjoyed - tasty and well filled pastry. I had the pheasant, which I have not eaten previously, although I have had guinea fowl. In my view, this small serving was undercooked - I can see no reason for there still to be blood in the joints - and it was tough and not very tasty. I'd have sent it back but didn't want to embarrass my host.The place itself is very pleasant and is probably worth another visit - avoiding the pheasant.

Only had diner. Didn't stay in the hotel.Worst fish and chips I ever had. Batter was soft as if it was microwaved, no flavour, baaad chips. Didn't feel very welcome either. Pretty place though.

I cannot star the rooms as only had lunch. Fish and chips were superb. Lovely friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Visited for a weekday lunch. Good food, friendly service, and a great outside patio with parasols. What more can you want on a sunny summer's day.

Our daughters wedding venue and it was magical, we stayed for three nights, wedding reception in hotel, dancing and merriment next door in the 8 bells, the team could not have been more attentive if they tried- many thanks to you all for making our daughters wedding so special
