Have moved to Cranbrook and have gone into the George a few times. Everytime is disappointing. The staff literally ignore you. They can see you standing there waiting, yet they are always busy with something else and NEVER look in your direction. You are made to feel like you are imposing on them. Decided to try again, but unfortunately had the same response. It has been noted that if it is a regular, the staff seem very quick to serve and be polite and friendly to them. Makes one feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Management should definitely consider putting their staff through customer service training. We will rather from now on go to the next village pub than have to deal with the service and pay extortionate prices for their drinks. The visit is not worth it. I see that there are other bad reviews about staff on here. It should be noted!Food & drinks: Prices are higher than surrounding pubs

Drinks like a glass of wine are way too expensive in my opinion. The staff are great, though. The food is a bit hit and miss, I've had to return quite a few things in the past for being cold or wrong ect. But they do rectify it if asked. When it's good, it's lovely. The pub is a nice cozy one, especially when the fire is going!

Stayed for 2 nights, excellent service.Lovely old hotel, enjoyed the bar area.Didn't use the restaurant but our breakfasts were really good. Lovely area to explore.Will go again after the refurbishment.Recommended.

Omg! I feel so relaxed ??? came for a week's r and r because my partner used to come here as a child and has fond memories of it. It is a lovely establishment, fantastic staff, can't believe how relaxed we feel, within 2 days felt like we'd been here a week..absolutely fantastic! LOVE IT! ? Definitely will be back again, so sad to be leaving, the food is amazing, the ambience is great..you feel like you've always been there. So great to see happy staff. Thank you for such an enjoyable and relaxing break. Jo and Col Room 11. ??? p.s they can't do enough for you here, they are amazing. See you again soon.

Booked the hotel for the 08/08/2023 for the night . Wish we hadn?t. Attractive entrance to period property but that?s where it stops . Was given a tiny room 9 at £150 for the night. Can only be described as filthy . Here we go - large star crack in sink , bath has be deeply gouged and could cut your feet, mould , long stop stains and tooth paste dribble down door frames, tea stained down entry door of room , filthy skirting boards , revolting stained towel . After complaining and the hotel manager in agreement we changed to their best room with four poster . Room still dirty and was bitten by fleas or bed bugs 4/5 times .

Lovely stay in dog friendly hotel. Our first stay with our pet anywhere and pleased to say it was successful! Clean and welcoming, very comfortable bed and delicious generous breakfast, Lovely staff on duty in the mornings.

Great little hotel. Very clean and staff were very hospitable. Thank you for the great stay guys! The hotel is perfectly located with amazing pubs and restaurants near by. Parking is also a plus! It is right behind.

Stayed over for a few nights with my partner. Amazing service by the team. Was very accommodating. Bed, sheets and amenities were all very comfortable. They also have a pub/bar downstairs so definitely will be back soon!

Stayed at George hotel for one night during the week found the bed very comfortable but the room needs a tidy up stains on carpet and towel holderIs not secured properly plus chips in bottom of bath I found the breakfast not good I had cooked breakfast and when IWent to eat my scrambled eggs and beans where just warm an were very rubbery I asked for them to be heated up they took the plate away whenIt was returned I tryed it the eggs were no warmer not hot and beans were the same I pretty well gave up after thatIt would be the worst cooked breakfast I have had on our 4 month holiday to UKWould not recommend this place

Only stopped for some drinks so cannot rate the rooms.Service was a little slow as there seemed to be only one person serving. She seemed a bit flustered. She was joined by another member of staff who had only worked there 3 days !!Food & drinks: Fairly good choice of drinks did not have any food but heard that it was very good.
