Absolutely loved it! It's the best in the county! You can never go wrong with the Cranbrook union mill

Well worth a visit

Rare example of an immaculately maintained working windmill that is accessible to the public. Stands majestically in the town centre in a fabulous setting and a historic town. It?s rarely open so if you want to go inside check out the opening hours beforehand.

Fantastic place to visit. The volunteers explained everything in great detail. They are hoping to be working and milling next year.A good place for a family visit.I would recommend a good donation for a worthy place.

Great place to visit, but it is currently closed and covered in scaffolding.

Unique looking windmill although sadly tucked behind cottages. Is occasionally open for visitors but not during Covid-19 days.A car parked outside, unfortunately spoilt any potential camera shot too. Never mind!Cranbrook is a lovely little town though.

Lovely place to visit, 7 floors but steep stairs (you are.asked to walk down most of the stairs backwards as they are steep)It's a working windmill and all of the staff / volunteers are very knowledgeable and very friendly.Mainly open weekends and not all year, so check website for opening hours!Oh and it's free, well I put some money in the donation box which is kindly appriciated but not mandatory!

Very well preserved historic landmark, with friendly, interesting and engaged staff to match. The history of the building is deeply detailed and well preserved, although some of the displays could use a touch updating as the arrangement does come across quite dated in areas. The volunteers do make up for the minor flaw and offer a brilliant insight into the historic sight. The windmill's opening times could be better promoted. Having lived in the local area for the majority of my life, I have only just visited as I was unaware when and how you could visit.Worth visiting for any local tourists and local residents looking for hidden gems.

We had a private tour. Very interesting. Not for the immobile as stairs/ladders are very steep. No parking on sight but street parking was close by.

Nice bit of our history to visit. Very interesting, and the guides know how it all works.
