Not happy with the hotel as I was bitten by bed bugs since 23/8/25 and still nursing those bed bugs till now 13/9/25.
I visited 3 chemists and confirmed it was bed bugs. I will never use that hotel.
I came for a conference

Very very basic and so so rooms. Bathroom smelled and wasn't cleaned as well as it could. Run down.
Restaurant quite basic and breakfast selection poor.
Staff is friendly and have to make do with the facilities but compared to other Travelodges this one is past its sell by date.
Colleague found a bedbug in his bed!
Sorry but I will not come back nor recommend this place (to any university guest).

While the exterior presented a pleasant appearance, the interior unfortunately left much to be desired. The furnishings seemed aged, and the carpets were notably unclean. However, the receptionist was exceptionally kind and welcoming.

There is a small carpark at the front and another bigger carpark a bit further down the road. It's free to use.
Quick check on all information given
2 lifts to all floors but one out of service.
My room is on the 1st floor.
A very damp, funny smell as soon as you opened the door.
The bed was comfortable but not the best Travelodge mattress I've had.
The shower was hot and powerful.
Wifi is now £3.5 for 24hrs.
Location is in the heart of the docks, lots of restaurants and fun stuff to do.
Lots of walks and running routes.
Would stay again but hopefully get a better smelling room and mattress!

The customer service is outstanding, our middle son has anxiety battles and the receptionist was very accommodating.
As the author of the children's book series paramedic Chris, I've written the books around supporting each other, well this hotel definitely accommodates for people.
Excellent service.

For the extreme basic of rooms then it's absolutely fine. But compared to say Premier Inn it lacks massively behind. Travelodge only has 30 minutes of free WiFi a day, Premier Inn is all free. Shower was not very good. Not powered so have to stand real close to the wall to get under the water.
Location wise is great. Historic Docks on the other side of the car park. And Dockside Outlet with loads of restaurants, a little shopping centre and cinema.

For what it is, and as long as you get a good price, this is a good budget hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The sheets are clean and the towels are big and fluffy. Free parking.

We stayed last night (24th August '25). Parking is very limited directly outside the hotel and was full when we arrived but we were directed by the lady on the front desk to the overflow car park just a bit further up.....not much of a problem. The same lady was nice and friendly when checking us in and asked if we'd had a nice day, which we'd spent at the Historical Dockyard opposite the hotel. Great! Room was OK, albeit quite small and cramped for a family room....bathroom, which was actually a wet room, looked good on arrival but upon use we quickly realised that the shower head did not stay in position so pointed at the floor meaning you had to manually take it out of the holster and shower yourself which in turn made the WHOLE floor soaked. Comfy bed, good night's sleep. Breakfast was a washout!!! Although the food was quite tasty, we went down at around 9am and there was barely any cooked food!!! Therefore everything that came out went really quickly and then back to nothing! Knives and forks were dirty and crockery was limited! Coffee was disgusting! Croissants and such were awful, dry and cheap! One very helpful lady staff member helped us move a table as there weren't enough free. There is a whole other bit with sofas which were unused at breakfast......in my opinion it would be more beneficial to have that side kitted out with tables and chairs to make enough seating for breakfast....the parking and breakfast area are nowhere near big enough for a hotel with 5 floors!!! Same lady who helped us move the table did not stop, she was rushed off her feet, basically did 3 people's jobs!! Well done to her!!!
Public toilets in main lobby behind the bar need attention......only 2 were usable, (one of which was tucked out of sight and easy to miss), as does decor in that corridor and toilets.
Location is bang on for visiting the Historical Dockyard which is a great day out but not sure if we'd stay again to be honest!!

Nice hotel with all the amenities that you need. The only downsides were that our room had rubbish Aircon, no fridge and no toaster.
Plus the shower water pressure was not very good.
Service was spot on though and they do serve great food.
Great views of the historic dockyard and a retail park across the road with an odeon and large number of restaurants, shops and cafes.

Dated and dusty. We booked a plus room but were given a family room with an extra bed instead. The Aircon didn't work and there was a constant rumble from the unit. Bathroom was dirty and in need of a complete revamp. Honestly the worst Travelodge we have stayed in.
Location and staff weren't an issue.

I wouldn't rate this travelodge very highly as staff at reception desk have poor communication skills and not that friendly. My room was ok, but bed had alot of hairs inside the bed and a few on the outside that I had to wipe off with a wipe and dirty stain on the sheet under the covers too. The housekeeping was not good at all unfortunately and I had to sleep on top of my bed with clothes on. Trying to find a member of staff to speak to and stood at reception for ages it felt so I gave up.
Alot of noise from other guests. I paid £92 for my room and felt robbed by the state of my room and dirty bed ect. I used to work at a hotel as night receptionist also have done housekeeping and I always believed in having high standards for customer service and keeping rooms clean and tidy always.
Very disappointed with my stay at this travelodge and will never return to the dockside Chatham travelodge.

Nice staff let us take our boats into the room to keep them safe.

The room we stayed in, we discovered at 0400 when we got up to leave for the eurotunnel, the shower made so much noise, we could not use it, or we would of woken the whole hotel up.
There was nobody on reception to report the issue too when we left and we could not wait.

This is a budget hotel providing basic rooms to sleep in and little more at a great value rate.
