They wrote to me out of the blue asking for personal details because they said they could not contact me. However the letter contained my full bank details account and sort code. I have been with NatWest 55 years and I honestly thought this letter and it's address was a scam. The paper was not usual quality and the logo looked like in was printed on an inkjet! The address was new to me. The letter said that I had to sign in to internet banking to input my details. I do not do internet banking. The letter said they had tried to contact me by phone and couldn't even though my branch has it. Given that they said they could not ring me why would they assume I was at the same address?? And put my bank details in full ???This is a very amateurish way of doing business and is an open invitation for scammers to replicate. Clearly it's run by inexperienced managers who are in no way street wise.As a result I am going to review my banking arrangements because a high street bank trying to be a remote internet bank is not secure especially as it was a joint account they referred to but no mention of the other joint account holder.Time for change I think.
