Staff are absolutely amazing and always willing to help and answer questions. There?s also a fantastic selection of books and comics which I?ve purchased at a reasonable price in store

This bookstore is absolutely delightful! It features a charming café where you can enjoy a warm cup of coffee or a light snack while perusing the shelves. One of its standout attractions is a beautifully maintained fish tank that captivates the little ones, making it an ideal spot for families. The staff are exceptionally friendly and always ready to assist you in finding exactly what you need. Plus, the store itself is impressively large, offering an extensive selection of books across every genre imaginable. It's a wonderful place to lose yourself in literature!

Horrible customer service at the cafe. Ordered an ice latte, took ages to put the lid on the cup. When I asked for a straw she said ?We don?t have any? I said ?well how am I supposed to drink it? and she goes ?you?ll just have to take the lid off? the lid she took ages to put on. Coffee was horrible, wouldn?t recommend

Helpful staff both in the shop and the nice café on 1st Floor. I was there for an author talk (Mary Beard)...spectacularly uncomfortable seats!

This review is about the Waterstones cafe, but the shop itself looked great and I was distracted for a while checking out their variety of products and books!
I had a lovely Too Good To Go bag from here, which contained a caramelised onion and cheddar croque, a rhubarb and custard cake and a slice of "ultimate" carrot cake. The latter was the perfect evening snack while overlooking the lovely Canterbury channels, and it was indeed as Ultimate as they say! Perhaps a bit too sweet, but incredibly delicious and rich - one of the best I've had! To top it all, it was so pretty I was almost sad to eat it. The other cake was my dinner's dessert to recharge after a very long day walking around everywhere, and it was delightfully soft, creamy and flavourful. If I had to order something sweet at this cafe again, I would struggle to decide between these two, or to try a third option which I have no doubt would be as good!
As for the croque, despite having it wait for the picnic lunch the day after, it was still pretty much in good condition and I enjoyed it deliciously!
The bag, costing £3.99, was marked for a £12 value, which I would say it more or less reached - I did not notice the rhubarb cake's price, but the other two were £3.2 and £4.9 respectively, so if it's the same as the carrot cake it would fall slightly short of this. However, I would say it's fair enough, because the sweets are actually surprisingly cheap for their quality!
The collection experience was fast, the staff were polite and even informed of what I'd received which is something I miss at most TGTG places.
Overall I was also surprised by the variety offered, and all products looked quite delicious and fairly priced.
I can't recommend this place enough, and more so the TGTG experience.
