I used to shop here all the time for over 10 years but no longer. I can't get around the shop, the new layout is confusing so I'm unable to find anything. The main majority of the staff are nice and helpful, if you don't have the misfortune of being served by the new manager? If that is who they think was a suitable replacement for the previous manager, who I always glad to see at work when i shopped there, then I worry about the companies slipping standards. Such a pity.

A handy shop with good prices for people interested in arts and crafts. Wide range of artistic materials on sale. Helpful, friendly assistants. Top range art materials not very evident such as sable brushes, Winsor and Newton professional watercolours or masking fluid. The odd gem is there to be found though. Good value and good service. Shop policies also customer friendly if you need to return or exchange. If you like arts and crafts well worth a visit or two

In general I like The Works, they offer a wide range of different products at decent prices and I can usually find what I'm looking for fairly easily.However, when I visited this particular store this week I was followed around the store by the member of staff who had been on the till when I walked in which made me feel uncomfortable and in the end I decided against making any purchases so that I could leave. I don't know why this happened but because of this I will be avoiding the store for a while.

Great value store but it's quite a small store and could do with a relocation to a bigger empty unit further up. This is the old Halford's store I'm talking years ago.Good value diaries and children's drawing books and bedside reading books.The doors were open when I went and it was a cold day.Not heard of saving energy and keeping the doors shut.That is the only reason for a 3 star rating.The staff were very helpful but the above was the reason for the mark down.

The Works always has a lot of things to look at all year round. The shop is quite small in regards to the amount of items on display, making it a bit tricky to look around during busy times.
