Lovely traditional pub, nice drinks and helpful staff, would recommend for a drink off the beaten tourist track.

Unfriendly service from beginning to end.
Ordered nachos as one of the meals for dinner? obviously have no idea what authentic fresh nachos are. Stale corn chips, no salsa and cheese that was coagulated and extremely unappealing, not freshly melted as it should be.
When the owner collected our plates and we gave him feedback, he clearly didn?t give a sh*t, just said a disingenuous ?oh sorry? and that was it.
So many better friendly, atmospheric pubs with better quality food around. Give this one a miss.

Relaxed pub with a friendly atmosphere. Our bartender was helpful in choosing a local beer on tap.

I am a frequent customer. Staff are always friendly especially Ed & Sarah. Excellent ales at a reasonable price. October special...all ales £4.20 which is a great price.

Friendly local with good range of beers and wine. We didn't join the pub quiz (Sunday eve) but it was packed and looked like great fun. We sat in the garden. Plenty of space outside some under cover (it was raining!)

Can't imagine there's a better pub in Canterbury - certainly none as good as this in our neck of the woods.Staying at House of Agnes just over the level crossing and it was our main port of call. The sole reason for taking off one star for food is because of the limited menu but that's not always a bad thing and the quality was excellent. We really could do with more of these traditional pubs but sadly it's not going to happen.Meanwhile for the Management and staff please keep doing what you are good (very) at.See you on our next visit to Canterbury.
