Standard cheap greasy spoon. The bacon was good but the sausage was like a cheap hotdog with no meat just filler.

This place is a life saver after a Calais-Dover channel crossing that sells a bacon bap for 6
quid. The Beano is a no frills no nonsense proper english breakfast, with polite staff and reasonable prices. A proper caf'!

Good food and prices, conveniently located close to the city centre.
I went to The Beano Cafe for a late morning breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, two slices of toast, a portion of chips and a can of fizzy pop. The cost was only £7.00. The chips were particularly nice, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
I would recommend this cafe.

This is a great cafe, excellent service and the food is consistently good. Breakfast is a traditional cafe breakfast, everything is always hot and hash browns crispy

Had scrambled eggs on toast here a few times. Not bad considering the prices. They serve a good cuppa too. I like the roasts they also. Ok it's not a la carte but I was happy.

Feel like this should be a gem but isn?t really.
Breakfast is very good value and it feels like a traditional greasy spoon, but?
Food lacks grease and just isn?t as good
What ever they clean with isn?t removed from the pans/surfaces.
The mushrooms had a faint taste of bleach, but it was only just noticeable.
I had black pudding with my meal and it was disgusting, tasted like it had been dipped in a puddle of bleach before cooking.
So I?d love to give this 5 stars, but actually 4 seems generous. I?m hoping our experience was a one off.

If you are an impecunious tourist with a big appetite and an aversion to being treated as a cash cow by businesses who think of you as nothing else but a cash cow, then this is the place for you.
This café hasn't changed much since the 1970's, when Ziggy Stardust and the Beano was competing for the attention of British school boys.
The full British breakfast with a mug of tea and toast on the side is garanteed to keep you going till Evensong.
Sadly you won't be served by Denis the Menace or Minnie Minx, expect instead to be served by staff who are welcoming, efficient and kind.

Dropped into this little gem because it was so close to our accommodation. Certainly not disappointed in any way. Staff were brilliant, service was quick and the food was really good. Would recommend.
