Needed to get some trainers and after the usual time taken to track down the staff for trying on, something very unusual happened. I have shopped in sports direct in st albans, Harpenden, Luton, Hatfield and several others around the country whilst on holidays and the one thing they all have in common is stressed, unhappy, inattentive staff. This store in white friars Canterbury bucked that trend. Whilst awaiting the attentions of the staff member spending lots of time being very helpful to a couple shopping for their grandson I decided to track down another from upstairs. This young man was also very attentive and helpful, making suggestions and happily getting another size up, then another and another. I was so impressed and ironically only giving this store 4 stars due to the very long wait for their attentions. But this is the first time I have ever been moved to spread the good word for a sports direct store. Rest assured I will be saving my sportswear shopping for trips to Canterbury from now on.

Very rude behaviour from one of their staffs. We have been shopping from this Canterbury town centre shop for more than 4 years now and today my wife had the worst experience from one of their staffs, a tall , bald Caucasian guy, could not catch his name from the tag, as if he tried hard to hide his name from us. When my wife queried about a pair of shoes he rolled his eyes and rudely asked her to check it by herself. Not sure if it was her brown skin to which he was allergic to or if he is allergic to all the customers, but I genuinely doubt the latter. I have raised it to their other staffs but I doubt if they are going to escalate it at all. We are never going back to this shop.

Rude and confrontational staff. Whilst trying on an item in their changing room my boyfriend informed me that a staff member was standing closely and watching him. After trying on my item I was immediately asked by this hostile staff member if I 'needed any help', which I obviously did not. Then, when going to pay for the item I noticed a lady stood in front of the fire exit with a Walkie-Talkie, staring at us as of we were about to attempt to steal the item by escaping through the fire exit! Yet, whilst waiting for the changing room the previous man that was waiting for his partner to try something on was not approached. With the only difference between us and them being race, Sports Direct really need to do better to not target black customers and make them feel uncomfortable.

SHOCKING REFUND POLICY BEWAREI?m not gonna comment on their costumer service because my problem is with the company not with the staff. If you buy something bare in mind that they absolutely not give you your money back unless item is faulty. I bought a pair of shoes that didn?t fit and they didn?t have the size I needed for an exchange. Instead of giving me a refund they gave me credit which I won?t use since what I need are the shoes.

Well. When I approached the sales girl and said "Am I missing something, where are the female shoes?" she looked completely blank! There are NONE on the ground floor. Yes, women, we are tucked up out of sight upstairs. Considering the state of men's game and its total immorality on ALL aspects - a disgrace to the world - and the fresh air and joy surrounding the Women's game I think we should be upfront and foremost and in the bally window!!!!

This shop has been so consistent over the years in providing bad customer service! Every time I go in, the stare, attitude from the employees make me feel that they don?t want to serve..The business doesnt look like treating their employees well..

Purchased underwear price was good then purchased 10 pairs of socks again pricing good. Funny thing parked to buy these plus pop into the bank in all tops 15mins costing me £5 the towns xar park seems a slit machine to scam people shopping extortionate parking charges.I understand £3 for 1st hour but £5 I feel for these traders trying to make profits yet this council still can't cut the weeds outside my front fence which belongs to them after 1 year still not done so what they doing with all the money being charged for canterbury parking extortionate charges. Well that's a Conservative council for you Rob from the people

Got what I needed and staff member at the front door was lovely. Only one star because the check out person was definitely in the wrong job. I've never encountered such a hostile person in a shop before. It made me feel awkward paying for my goods feeling like I was about to get a punch in the face for no reason. Hand your notice in luv and put your CV about. Life really is too short to waste being that miserable and angry.
