Really awful and uncomfortable experience.
Faced racial profiling which should never be accepted in any case.
Me and my friend had just walked into the shop (prior to this the last time we had shopped there was like 2months ago), and not even 2 steps in the security accuses us of being banned so why are we here? We kept telling him, extremely confused that he?s mistaken, we haven?t been here in a while and we have never been banned? He was very adamant that we were banned and kept going back and forth, simply just not believing us. He then left us to do our shopping whilst he went to check and confirm.
Already extremely uncomfortable we took a couple minutes but then decided to speak to the manager in regards to this situation as there was no apology and the way he immediately assumed we were banned made no sense, especially in the way he approached us.
The manager(Ollie) was just as in the wrong as the security guard, as he was also adamant from what the security guard was saying was true and if that?s the case we will have to leave or they will get police involved. Extremely confused and frustrated that they wouldn?t believe us we then asked can they simply give us a name or show us the picture of the supposed banned people in which they said they can?t because of ?security reasons?. We didn?t want to give them our names as they don?t have the right to know but we ended up telling them and they immediately realised they had the wrong people.
We then asked what was so identical about the people that were previously banned, in which the security guard replied ?you?re wearing glasses and you?re wearing a hat?. No facial feature recognition just simply what we were wearing?
No apology whatsoever and the security guards face seemed embarrassed as soon as we said our names, but the manager looked like he couldn?t care less and looked as if we were overreacting.
Will not be shopping here again as this is not the first bad experience I?ve had, but this is definitely the worst.

Good but very difficult trying to navigate the place. Even with the many self-service tills the queue can be very long. The limited number of staff are great.
EDIT: Went to the same Sainsbury's today. Used SmartScan on the phone with personalised discounts if you use the app. When I got to the till I was selected to be checked - no problem - but then the till would not allow the SmartScan to be uploaded. I was told to rescan everything. I did. But did not get personalised discounts I had on the SmartScan. Went to customer service and was told I had confused the person on customer service. I was then told you only got the discount with the SmartScan. I explained I had used that but the till did not accept it. I was made to feel like I was very stupid and all I had done was what I was told. Not a great experience and it's never a good idea to blame the customer when it is the store's tech that was not working. I left genuinely feeling gutted and rather down, like I had been an idiot. Not an experience I would want to repeat, and I'm sure the staff would feel the same.

I had several Problems at the small basket, Self service tills today (neither were my fault!) which were resolved, but when the till ran out of notes for my change, a ?younger? member of staff who was from the trolly self service tills stepped in to help.
This member of staff, I?m very sad to say, was the rudest, disrespectful member of staff I have ever come across in Sainsbury's store C/bury.
No greeting, smile or apology for inconvenience caused, or the delay in going to get the note I was owed.
She just gave me the note, stood in front of the till before I had taken my coins & only moved when I politely asked her to. Again silence & no apology.
Having spent my whole career dealing with customers in retail & till services, I know what customers expect from staff & it certainly wasn?t I had experienced today.

I actually sat in the car with the motor running while my gf got a coat and some hot drinks. She came back with Earl Grey rather than regular tea, but feels mean to remove a star for that.

Good sized supermarket with good amount of parking yet still close to town. 2 hours free parking with option to pay to stay longer via an app.
