We had a beer here and just hang out on the first floor for 2 hours, enjoying the view and the atmosphere of the town. The service was quick and the staff were friendly.

5 of us with our 2 year old children went to this cafe to buy lunch and drinks and cake to celebrate a friends birthday. My son is fussy so I got him some food elsewhere previous so he can sit and eat (his food was nearly gone) Only to all be turned away after sitting down and sorting out moving seats for us all. With the reason being my 2 year old can?t eat his own food in there! I must mention there was only 2 other people in the whole cafe! Found somewhere round the corner after that allowed my son to eat his lunch. But the staff were not helpful and clearly didn?t want business. So if your going with children don?t take them there own food.

Came here for breakfast on a drive from central London to Canterbury Cathedral, Really good hot chocolate and cinnamon buns!

We went there as a group of 7 along with a kid. The group mostly consisted of vegetarians and we could find 3-4 vegetarian dishes.
We ordered pancake, cheese sandwich, avacado toast and mozarella cheeze pesto sandwich. Our sandwiches base was split between bagel, sourdough and bread. We also ordered a frappe and few beers.
The sourdough is in the shape of normal bread which didn't taste like sourdough, the avacados were quite tasteless with hardly any salt and pepper.
The strawberry banana pancake was good. However, at the end it became too sweet and was difficult to finish. The cheese toastie was just okay. The frappe also didn't have any coffee and felt like milk.
All in all the atmosphere and service is much better than the food they served.
I would not recommend this place for food.

I was a regular customer at the Chocolate Cafe, and I must say, it was truly a haven. The atmosphere was so cozy and artistic, with decorations that were both calming and visually engaging. I'm puzzled as to why you decided to change it and leave only remnants of the original decor. Why alter what was arguably the most beautiful and unique decor in Canterbury? It's truly disappointing. The coffee, which was once exceptional, is now just average.

This used to be my favourite cafe in Canterbury when it was the Chocolate cafe. Visited it recently after it opened as Siip and the coffee was very disappointing at the point that we couldn?t drink it, the cappuccino was more like a hot chocolate. The view of the Cathedral upstairs is lovely, the decoration has been improved with painted walls but the quality of the coffee definitely needs to change. What a shame!
