My wife and I went to Barclays Bank in Canterbury to discuss investment opportunities and Tax Free ISA?s. Our questions about the benefit of opening a new ISA account were explained in detail. Tandy is a credit to her profession in general and to Barclays Bank in particular.

Outstanding Service ? Thank You, Barclays Canterbury
I visited Barclays Canterbury on Saturday to open a current account for my daughter, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful - taking the time to explain everything clearly and ensure the process was smooth and stress-free.
It felt like genuine care rather than just ticking boxes. They made my daughter feel welcome and involved, which made the experience even better. It?s rare to receive this level of personal attention these days, and I left feeling genuinely impressed.
A big thank you to the team - excellent service and a credit to the Barclays brand.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful when I went in to enquire about opening an account for my son. My bank has closed in town now so I am going to transfer to Barclays, based on my interaction with them last week.

I haven't been into a bank for several years so some of the machines were new to me. I found all the Canterbury staff most helpful. Many thanks!

One visit to this branch was enough to make me reconsider Barclays for both my personal and business accounts.
Tried to exchange around 10k euros to pounds and deposit into a relatively new personal bank account via the cash desk - the staff member on desk wouldn?t tell me his name and had no badge so wouldn?t know but told me unless I was definitely depositing it here (never said I wasn?t just queried exchange rates) then he won?t waste his time helping me or counting it. This was after he told me the way the money was rubber banded was ?f?ing terrible? and blamed me for doing it poorly whilst generally being rude. This was with other customers present at other tills and nobody behind me which is insane to me - Only joined Barclays recently, the sales rep clearly had me fooled into thinking the Premier account came with basic respect & decency but more fool me!
I?ve been asked three times in as many weeks about setting up calls to discuss transferring my business and savings over to Barclays and can honestly say today?s visit was enough to ensure I never move any of them as well as advise everyone not to either.
Truly the worst experience I?ve ever had in/with a bank and have every intention of closing out all credit/debit accounts shortly.

Does what we needed. It is unusual to have a full service branch

The hub yes, hub is not in Canterbury it is in the Umbrella Centre Whitstable and only open on Tuesday. It does NOT have ANY money machines just a dedicated Barclays staff member helping local people. The rating five star is for this one room hub.

A total unhelpful staff to have no comucation and when you require cash one say no problem next day you can only get half if that, no point in speaking to the manager as he would smile . As they do not care in one moment as no one gives a damm. Electronic tills card not cash a typical unhelpful world. One star is too much. Will write to bank as it impossible to get them via the link supplied after the review answers

I am a foreigner and my English is not very good, I came offline for help as I had problems transferring a large amount of money on the app, I was greeted by a very gentle and patient lady with long straight hair who helped me log into the app and helped me pay my rent successfully, She was the most patien and helpful bank staff I have ever come across in the UK, unfortunately I didn't ask her name or see her name tag, if this lady can read this review I would like to thank you again, you made my day.

I am writing today to highlight the steps that are required when one tries to open a new bank account in Barclays as a foreigner coming to UK as a skilled worker especially in NHS.The steps are as follows:1. Download the Barclays app and select "I am new to Barclays " and then go through all the necessary steps. It will be convenient to use BRP while opening the account as it is more acceptable in the bank.2. The bank will need to verify the documents so a message will appear which will ask to verify the required documents in-person at a nearby branch .3. Required documents usually include: BRP and a proof of address. Proof of address is the tricky document here which needs to have the following points included:- full name- full address of current residence- the letter needs to be in a headed paper- the letter must be addressed to Barclays- the contract needs to be for a minimum of 1 year or needs to mention that the employee is "permanently " employed.4. Before going to verify identity documents, a reference number will appear in app and through that, the bank will ask to book an appointment. Please book an appointment in advance. Without an appointment, the bank will not proceed to do identity check.5. Once the above documents will be ready, the account opening will be smooth .I hope this writing helps those who are eager to open their first UK bank account in Barclays. Thank you ?

I remember three years ago, when my mother died, the helpfulness and care with which the adviser dealt with my mother?s affairs and my grief. My sister closed her Barclays accounts when she went to NZ last year, leaving some money in them. She is currently holidaying with me in Canterbury. I have been to Barclays Canterbury twice in the past 10 days and on both occasions met with Sonia Gee. I cannot praise her enough. Kind, clear and very competent in sorting it all out. My sister was very confused, I?m a bit better at these things so went along to advocate for her. Sonia clearly assessed what was going on, focussed on my sister whilst explaining the process to me and was so very organised and efficient. We live in a horrible world atm so turning up today in miserable weather, with my anxious sister I was very pleased to find a great example of what good people do. I?m so grateful to her and hope that her managers see this review. She is the epitome of professional care and communication. Thanks so much Sonia. Leigh Derbyshire x
