Made a reservation 3 weeks in advance for 6 people on 27th December. We were sat in the bar area and spent £44 on drink. When we received the menu which was different
To the one on the website we were told that there was no beef bourgignon and no fish. Also that the pie was a bought in product. That left very little to choose from so we left. I emailed the licensees concerning this but did not receive a reply. Disappointed.

Wonderful hosts at The Powell. Very welcoming along with very good and reasonably priced food. Accommodation was well presented and very comfortable

Went to buy one get one free steak night. Steak was superb. Service was good. A great deal. But ask to see the drinks menu which was not offered don't just order 'a white wine' or a 'lager' when asked if they can get you drinks Some of the prices of the drinks were (to me) eye popping when we got the bill at the end. Other than that a great place to go.

We found The Powell by chance and what a fabulous place.It was fish & chips night. The food was excellent quality and also good portions.Beer was also well kept.Bring a Friday there was also music. The musician was very good, who also sang happy birthday for our friend.Also very dog friendly

From reading most of the reviews on here we must of had the bad chef today! everything was over cooked or didn?t taste like it should especially my daughter?s Chicken which was slimy and didn?t taste like chicken! Can?t complain about the staff but would be nice to be ask for a second drink.

What a shame you have gone to card payment only. I was really looking forward to coming back to eat here, as we had a lovely meal last time. Unfortunately due to not agreeing with card payment only venues. I rate you 1 star. We spent £150 on our last visit, your loss as we would of been regular visitors.
