A thoroughly enjoyable visit. Good parking. Friendly and helpful staff. A very good choice of drinks. My wife and I chose the Sheps. Very nice.
The food was very good too.
In my opinion it is well worth a visit.

Shepherd Neame not my favourite beer. Master Brew is OK but on last visit, Chequers had Coast Drifter on tap. Quite a bit more expensive than MB but a great summer pint. Very refreshing. Exceedingly good baguettes enjoyed by each of our oarty of six.

Expensive for what you get. It's priced as really nice food but is on par with wetherspoons quality.
Service is remarkably slow.
The playground was the redeeming factor.

We stayed just up the road and walked to the chequers for food on the wed night. We were warmly greeted and the drink selection was good. We had cider and it was very nice. The food menu is simple and the food we had was delicious. It wasn?t expensive so good value. We finished our drinks outside. There was a nice feed to the place. Sadly no food served on a Thursday night so we stopped for a drink and went on elsewhere. Will return in the future!

Delightful country pub in the heart of the village. We attended their annual Ukelele Festival and it was absolutely fabulous.

Lovely village pub offering friendly service, good local ales and an excellent Sunday roast with all the trimmings including cauliflower cheese! Very handy if you're looking for food after a tour of Belmont House (also recommended).

We called into the chequers on Saturday for food as we were staying nearby. Was shocked to discover that evening service is 6-8! Surely missing a trick here, or maybe don?t want to be doing food at all. We did notice on a board outside that the kitchen seems to be shut more than open. If you?re looking to eat here make sure you call in advance so as not to be disappointed. We arrived at 7.15 and asked if we could order food, ? no, we?re too busy!? Very disappointing, especially as the only other food we saw go out was a table of four and 2 desserts.
Sadly, the only pub in the village , and as we were on foot we had crisps. We met up with friends, one of whom was drinking squash, £2 for a shot of lime and water?which increased to £2.20 by the second drink! So sad to see a village pub being run this way.

Lovely environment, wonderful and friendly staff. Great food, both vegan and non vegan. For a village pub was very quite for a Saturday evening.
Vegetarian options: Great vegan options. Delicious vegan burger!

Enjoyed a great lunch today.
Generous portions at fair prices, lots to choose from a varied menu.
Excellent and friendly service, in our view, best in the area.
