A recent visit on a recommendation with the magic word of Harvey's beer made a visit a dead cert! Tastefully refurbished with thoughtful materials makes for a pleasant experience with amongst other things the welcome warmth from the woodbuner!Oh, and the Harvey's! 4 of the breweries offerings on hand pump made me split for choice!Parking: Just at the side of the pub.

Have visited a few times, and every time there has been drastic improvements to the pub. Since the new owners Duncan and Lesley have taken over, the pub is always a pleasure to attend. Great selection of beers, lovely cosy fireplace and a very friendly fugly ?Can?t wait to come back again.

Writing this review to warn others. This is not a child or dog friendly pub at all!We arrived with 1 small child. 4yrs old.As we were ordering our drinks a small dog run up to my daughter and growled at her.The person I now know is the land lady, run over and stated the dog didn't like children, and that we needed to sit my daughter down and not be near the bar with her.Which in this very small pub is almost impossible. We sat at the only table. (There are only 3 tables) the dog again run at my daughter. We were told it was because we were sat near the "dogs chair"We had by this point decided we were finishing this 1 drink and leaving. We were waiting for our friends to arrive. They also had 1 small child. We explained the reason the land lady was hovering over out table was because her dog would not go away from underneath it and to becareful of it.As my daughter got down to say hello to my friend the dog ran at her and bit her!The land lady saw this and told us it was our fault and that we needed to leave. To be very clear. My daughter did not approach this dog. This dog pestered all of us and was a total menace. There was no apology, only total denial and we were told if we didn't like it we should leave.Such a shame as we literally live in the village. Please if you have children do not visit this pub as it was only thanks to my friends quick thinking it caught my daughters arm and not her face!I have seen the reply and you must have us confused with another family as this was our first ever visit to sit inside the pub.We have never been before and certainly never had soup over Christmas???

We went to this pub for service and when we walked in, a dog ran to my 3-year-old daughter and was aggressive by jumping up and growling at her. I graded her quickly as the dog look like it was going to bite her. I ask the lady behind the bar 'who?s dog is that' and she looked at me and carried on servering. Next a man in a red jumper came along and started arguing with me instead of apologising and asking if my daughter was okay. I wouldn't recommend this pub to anyone specially with young children. To your reply, my daughter didn't run around in your pub. I carried her in and put her down and then your dog ran up to her and jump and growled at her. I didnt say your dog bit her, i said it look like it was going to as it was being aggressive, this was observed by other members. You say the dog was overwhelmed due to the number of people came into the pub for a wake, maybe you should of took the dog away. Also unless this is the young lady behind the bar that is writing this review, I doubt you would know what exactly happened. Of course we all stayed as it was a wake to remember a member of my family. Once again no apologie
