Purely a takeaway that could do with a face-lift, but fish and chips were really good.

We were renting a lodge at Bay Colwell as we were on the island for our 1st Wedding Anniversary (we actually had dinner reservations at another restaurant that evening for our anniversary however due to a fire we had to come up with a Plan B)So we decided to have Fish and Chips on the lodge and relax. The food was far to expensive and terrible quality. We had cheesy chips which barely had a thin covering of cheese, kebab which was stone cold by the time we got back to the lodge (less than a mile away) all just a but hopeless really. Then there's the state of the place, dark, dingy with tiles hanging off, smashed glass and just generally run down. The service was horrendous too. It wasn't until AFTER I paid that I was told it would be about 25 minutes, had I of known this I wouldn't have bothered, they seemed to be be saying this for every order too! The guy that served me sounded like he didn't want to be there and the guy in chef clothes was borderline obnoxious too. After we left we found our order was missing items so phone the restaurant and they asked me to come back to which I declined. I suggested they refund the items remotely which isn't a difficult thing to do and they weren't able to suggesting I return for a cash refund ( yet further inconvenience me)Overall, shocking. We visit on a regular basis and simply won't be coming back.

We're over on the island on holiday and thought we would try Totties fish and chips as rainbows is closed at the moment. It was the worst fish we've ever had. Every mouthful had bones in. Not just your usual little bones that you can expect to find in any fish, but big bones! It was really greasy and stuck to the paper on the soggy parts. The curry sauce was thick, cold and lumpy and resembled vomit!Iv given this place 1 star because I couldn't rate it 0.Total waste of money.AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!! RANK!!(Picture with cotton but for comparison in size. Not all bones were in this picture!)

Freshly cooked whilst we waited, our supper was delicious. There?s a huge selection of food to choose from to cater for different needs.Easy street parking with ample spaces. Watch got it as you go around the corner or you might miss it.

Absolutely terrible food and awful attitude unfortunately. We found so many bones in the haddock. My partner politely went in there when no other customers where around to again, politely comment on the fact that we found so many bones in the fish and they arent gutting their fish properly. In all the times we've had fish we've never found a bone but this is first time we ate here and full of bones. I took a mouthful and nearly choked on a bone so that put me off as it was full of them and my partner also found way loads of bones. The man behind the counter said quite rudely if you don't want bones, you should have said. This is not verbatim but this was roughly what he said and his general attitude was poor. We didn't want to make a scene, my partner wasnt aggressive, just some feedback, but the reception we had was bad tempered and irritable instead of caring that two of his customers didn't enjoy the the food and came to give polite feedback about it. I'd avoid this place. Of course he could have been apologetic and used the feedback to improve but unfortunately he doesn't seem to care, given we decided to warn others on here to avoid this fish and chip shop and found (too late clearly) that loads of other people find bones and can't stand the food and they don't seem to care to make any changes to improve the food for their customers. What a shame this is. We'll never eat here again. So not the end of the world for us but his business will suffer if he keeps consistently getting poor reviews and not wanting to improve their food.

Went on a recommendation from a local, as we were staying locally on holiday. And wasn't disappointed, nice welcome from friendly staff, food was all cooked from fresh, fish real tasty, batter was lil greasy, chips lovely. Premises was nice and clean.

Wow! Where do I start. Ordered in the dirtiest takeaway you?ve ever seen! The food was horrific a kebab the size or a small child?s hand at the cost of £12. I must say I?m pretty impressed at the effort the have gone to cut chips fry them in oil that outdates ww2 to them wrap them in chip paper so tight I got home to an oil filled potato! Please do not waste your money the place is disgusting.

Lovely basic fish and chips it was well made and the fish was tender but it was really lacking flavour. Even a bit of salt would make a huge difference

Visiting the Isle of Wight, staying in Totland so figured why not try the local chippy. Staff were friendly, food was freshly cooked and very generous portions. Unfortunately the fish and chips were very greasy and soggy, so much so it soaked through the paper which then ripped when I tried to lift and tip the food onto a plate. The fish itself was tasty, just a shame it wasn't left to sit and crisp a little longer so to reduce the grease. I won't be recommending to friends and family.

First and last time I'm afraid. Large cod with chips, paper covered in grease even through to the serviettes on the top. Paper stuck to cod and chips which was very annoying ? cod had bones in which wasn't good ? ? chips were soggy and very greasy, all in all a BIG BOX OF GREASE, very disappointing . And to top it all my wooden table was covered in grease. VERY EXPENSIVE £25. !!! I thought chip shops were supposed to be cheap. On a positive note the guy who served me was very polite and the fish INSIDE the batter was nice.

Had a takeaway of cod and chips and a doner kebab. The cod was good. The chips were soggy and greasy. The doner lacked flavour and I felt poorly the next day. Not food poisoning or anything like that but it didn't agree with me.Staff are friendly though..
Fodder wasn't bad but the service is beyond unbelievableI imagine the three blokes here were all chefs but they had no idea how to take and provide orders......what a shambles.......what a shame.........get yourself a front of house and both go cook....so no stars for service or atmosphere.........my gran could have served better and she would be 128.........she's been dead 30 years............ but she still has more organisational skills than this pairAnd before they say......can you do better........YES I CAN YES I HAVE AND MY STAFF STILL DO

Ordered four portions of cod and chips. We were able to place our order by phone which was handy and the food was ready on time. Chips were great and we had good sized portions of fish in nice crispy batter. Came across a few bones which is why this isn't a 5 star review but a great way to have fish and chips by the sea.
