The lamb shank on the bone was pretty nice with a portion of hot gravy on the plate. However the vegetables were not as hot and therefore let the plate down. My broccoli was pale and insipid looking compared to my husbands bright green aldente piece. When asked if all was ok I was offered some more veg, unfortunately still not hot. Nevermind, a bit hit and miss. very friendly staff.

We wanted to like it here so much, we visited shankin in 2024 and missed out eating here, visiting again in 2025 we booked a table in advance as it can get very busy and fully booked. On our arrival we were seated quickly and our order was taken. We requested the children's food to be brought out with the adults starters, we waited almost half an hour for our drinks! When our drinks finally came out two of them were completely wrong and the waitress attitude was appaling, very rude and then waited a further 10mins for them to be changed. Our starters were brought out without the children's mains. Starters were Moroccan lamb style kebab, lovely favour but barely warm. Children's nuggets overcooked and tasted like cardboard. Mains ribeye steak and sirloin ordered medium rare, came out rare and was very Stringy, full of fat. Horrible cut of meat. Gammon was very chewy, salmon had half of scales left on. Upon paying almost £200 bill and complaining nothing was offered for the poor service not even 10% discount. Wont be visiting again, after our 2024 IOW visit we ate in the Village Inn across the road, go their instead guys.

Lovely pub/restaurant in Shanklin. Great staff. Wide range of drinks and food. Highly recommend if your in the area.

We both really enjoyed our lunch.
The Crab is a credit to Green King brand.

Came here after a long drive from the West Midlands. Had a great experience at The Crab, the food was amazing, but what really stood out was the service. Lara was outstanding: friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. She made the whole visit feel relaxed and welcoming! Would definitely recommend!!

Had 2 evenings there while on holiday in shanklin was very impressed with service and food was excellent and a very good price sausage and mash under £10 and other meal not much more , a nice old fashioned pub in shanklin old town area , definitely go again when in area
