First off its very important for me to mention the review i left on google I put a very honest review up about how I felt my stay was and lies have been replied to about myself & my older mother no one was there when we was and was not acting in a way displayed and I am seeking legal advise So stayed at this hotel recent planned to spend full 5 nights there got there early and called on the bell no sign on door to indicate what to do if no one around, Diane come and collected out luggage gave us bus map and said come back at 4pm. Got back around 6pm and was told your key is in the door and luggage in room I was not even told were my room was, when entering the room first impressions was room was very basic and decoration mix & match in room 2 very small single beds 1 small chest of draws 2 bed side tables and table under window and 2 bulky arm chairs. Room was taken up with furniture not really any walking space all good providing tea making facilities if there is somewhere to plug kettle in with a wire so short it does not reach you have to hold kettle while it boils. stayed 3 out of 5 nights and our mugs was not changed once and the towels given was no bigger than a tea towel. Bathroom had a shower no inside shower mat and it was very dangerous in there no hand rail - the hot water takes a very long time to heat up and Luke warm water there is also no towel hook in bathroom at all. No toilet brush in bathroom cabinet in bathroom is very shallow and has open back so items just fall out. Tiles behind toilet falling off. No lunch or dinner option this is fine but all things considered was told we cant eat food in our room or will get a fine. Breakfast is very over priced for what you get for £15 you get few croissants 2 small pots of porridge 2 small yogurts piece of fruit and 2 small juices. We found somewhere for food and we was told prior we would be aloud cutlery so took this option up and had to ask for this by calling the main hotel phone from our phone as no staff around. We was given a fold up table and chairs and plates and told we had to sit in lounge . The lounge is very dated and dim it still had Christmas decorations up and not even a single bad weather board game in. As displayed on there official website it said free WIFI the connection is so bad not worth using and had to look around entrance hall for password as was not even given this also displays there is a courtyard for you to sit in and this is not case asked a member of staff about this and got told I will go see if door open and never got back to us, also displays there is a bar and got told by Diane its only open for a function. When we first checked in we asked about the bungalow and got told ill check as work being done again no one got back to us. The only time we saw a member if staff is when we checked in did not see any at any other time also no one else staying there was seen at any time. not asked at any time is everything ok can we get you anything. On the sunday we decided we had enough and was going to check out we arrived the Thurs and was not due to check out untill the tuesday. We called Diane and asked to meet us in the entrance hall as we was checking out we explained why and just got looked at no reply to complaints raised when calling the phone and saying were checking out were bring bank card down for refund she said its fine I have done refund while speaking to you and will be in bank morning of next day. we then walked outside as Diane was outside and we handed the key and got nothing in reply no sorry nothing then proceed to walk in and shut door very abrupt. Prior to leaving the outside of hotel I called and asked for proof of refund as if it does not show I can then take it up with my bank was then told I cant show you proof but I will issue refund when off phone and send you a email so again was told is had been done to then find out it had not. Had to keep chasing up refund as next day was still not there took a extra 5 days when we checked out and voiced our concern we got told well maybe you should have booked a

Visited this facility late September 22, the accommodation was perfect! Dog friendly, clean, spacious and just like being at home. There were lots to see and do although our stay was short so we didn?t see everything. We were super comfortable in our accommodation, very private and quiet.. Went on plenty of walks with the dog and enjoyed the fresh air, the sea views and scenery. The hosts were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. There wasn?t one thing I didn?t like! I would highly recommend as this was definitely value for money too. Well done to the hosts.

If your looking for a no fuss place to stay suitable for families, then the Wighthill hotel might be up your street. The price was substantially lower than other places in the area and only a 5-10 minute walk to the beech and local High Street/restaurants, although in the heat, with kids, I would suggest driving to the seafront! The decor of the rooms is quite amusing in that it jumped from the lime green bathroom to bejewelled wall paper on one wall to pictures of antique books on the other! There wasn't a fridge in the room, as stated in the price, but you could use the small communal one available in the sitting room on the ground floor, which was fine for us in keeping drinks cool. There was ample free street parking outside when we visited, as well as 4 designated spaces for the hotel. We didn't see any staff apart from on our first day at the hotel to check in and there is not anyone on reception. However, there is lots of information about what to do on the island and the beds were changed every day. Overall we felt the place was good value for money based on our experience.

Hotel is lovely and clean with staff who make you feel completely safe and at home. Diane and Lynn served us a fantastic bit of brekkie each day that set us up for a daily round of golf. Diane helped us set up our little golf break and we got our tee times set up in advance. So that we were never rushed, had our breakfast, played golf, a few beers at the club house before going back to the hotel to freshen up. Plenty of good restaurants that Diane directed us too. One evening she made us some jerk chicken, rice & peas, which apparently she does for take away once a month. Delicious! All four of us loved it. We played golf at the Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club, lovely little course, especially after you have the 1st round under your belt. We played there 3 days in a row and it was great fun. The pros, staff and locals made us feel very welcome. We will be back, hopefully soon.
