Location was perfect, 5 mins walk from beach. Great shops and restaurants nearby. Perfect view of countryside from room.Hosts were friendly and nice, however there were no hooks in the bedroom. Also the bathrooms were never cleaned and beds not made, only bins changed, and towels (when needed). Breakfast nice, but not a large selection of continental food; croissants and fruit.Walkability: 5 min walk to Sandown beach/pier and High St. Quiet road.

What a wonderful warm welcome we received from David, Andy and lovely Wendy at the Sandhill Guest House! Our superior king room with ensuite bath and shower was spotlessly clean with the added advantage of a fabulous view across the island. We enjoyed our freshly cooked breakfasts and they accommodated any of our requests too. Over the week we spent there, it certainly felt, home from home. They have a lovely little bar too. A little sign at reception says 'Enter as strangers and leave as friends' - we certainly did! We will be returning - that's for sure. Thank you.Rooms: A spotlessly clean, freshly decorated room. Large ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. Fresh towels as needed. Tea/coffee making facilities, all with a wonderful view!Nearby activities: Sandown pier, Shanklin. Great base for visiting the whole island.Walkability: Very close to Sandown town and pier.Food & drinks: Outstanding breakfasts, freshly cooked.

The room was ok but toiletries was not. Their breakfast service was nice and the location was 5mins walk from the beach.

Great friendly staff. Great breakfast. Comfortable bed. Very clean rooms. Great location only a short walk from the beach. A great location to travel around the island . Parking facilities are free. A nice friendly bar is open daily. Very good value.

What a wonderful warm welcome we received from Dave, Andy and lovely Wendy at the family run Sandhill Guesthouse. Our superior king room with en-suite bath and shower was spotlessly clean with the added advantage of an amazing view of the island. We were given a daily breakfast choice sheet which we completed daily. The full English consisting of sausage - pork or vegetarian, bacon, black pudding, egg - fried or scrambled - beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash brown with toast - white or healthy - Lol, brown! There was also a lovely selection of cereals, yogurts, fruit juices, tea and coffee too. We chose our options the night before and they were cooked freshly the next morning at the time you had chosen to eat. The breakfasts were outstanding! There was also a licensed bar to enjoy an evening drink. They also welcomed you to order food in if you didn?t fancy eating out or had had a long day and provided plates and cutlery. Basically, nothing is too much trouble! We can honestly say that our week spent here was made more enjoyable by our hosts. There is a little sign above the reception desk which reads, ?Enter as strangers, leave as friends.? We certainly feel we have! Thank you Wendy, Dave and Andy. We will return x

The bed was very comfy. The staff were lovely. Breakfast was good, cereal, cooked breakfast, toast etc., The bar area was very nice with a conservatory. Very close to bus stops round the corner Melville Road (for 2, 3, & 8) Sandown train station & local amenities.

Friendly, considerate service at family run hotel. Comfortable room, newly decorated with good standard of cleanliness. Wholesome freshly cooked breakfast with excellent attention to detail. 5 minutes walk to railway station.

Nice hotel near to Sandown high street. Short walk to the castle pub. Owners Andy and Dave are always accommodating and friendly. Will definitely stay again.

Superb place to stay, great value for money, nice breakfast, good parking, lovely lady Wendy ( and the other two gents )who really made my family and kids feel welcome, nice traditional english style hotel feel but its got new carpets, showers and fittings etc so was really good and a great location with beach and pier walking distance. I really do recomend

Sandhill Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The people who own/run it are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is delicious. I stayed here for 3 weeks with my 3 children, and my children even felt welcome and loved spending time here.
