For the price paid, can?t really knock this hotel. Little tired looking from the outside, but room was comfortable, staff friendly and the food (breakfast) was very good. Location is perfect for sandown and surrounding areas. Would stay again

Awesome hotel, staff amazing as always and accommodating to each guests requests! Food was delicious and service extremely quick! Recommend to anyone staying on the IOW, beachfront views, what more can you say! Thanks team looking forward to returning!

Our group arrange a long weekend each year.This year we are at the Hotel Maria, Sandown. It's a mid sized hotel on the waterfront in Sandown. At first glance it looks like it needs a face lift. But once inside it's well laid out, the rooms are spread over 4 floors, with a small lift to the second floor the rest are accessed by stairs. Most of the rooms have been renovated recently, with either king size beds or kings + singles. The restaurant is on the ground floor and large enough for all to sit in one sitting, the quantity and quantity of the food is excellent. The Staff are very approachable and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is interested in a trip to Sandown.

Booked this hotel not expecting luxury but the basics.- Room was extremely dirty (Hair all over the place, dust everywhere, stains on the towels and stains on the bed covers) but the worst part was the dirty plasters under the bed. The smell of the whole hotel, to put it frank just smelt like dirty socks.- location was okay but wouldn't recommend to stay in sandown there are other parts that are lively and much more to do.- I believe it was the manager or a female staff. Was extremely rude as when wanting to come and speak to us about the room, she just barged in the room while we were getting dressed, shouting 'you have 10 minutes to leave the room' and slammed the door as she went out.Overall the worst experience of any hotel i have stayed and i travel the world and have stayed in hostels, the lot but never seen such a dirty hotel with rude staff.we had the intentions of leaving early morning and coming back late so that er just had to sleep in the hotel but we could not even tolerate a few hours of sleep in such a dirty place.sorry if this review sounds bad but this is the absolute truth and i do not want anyone else experiencing what we did.I would not recommend this hotel to anyone

Hi I went with my school to this hotel well me and my friend shared a room together l no we were the second trip after the first group but on the toilet seat there was wee wee and there were crumbs in our cupboards/wardrobe wait there?s more we found socks in our cupboard draw and when we wiped our bedside tables the wet wipe was green even though it was white before also breakfast was the only good meal lunch was sandwiches and for dinners I had pasta it was hard at one point I had to use my hands to eat because it was so hard the view was the only good thing

We stayed this week as a coach party at the Hotel Maria, we had the best time. The hotel Manager and his staff are amazing, nothing was too much trouble for them, everywhere was spotlessly clean, our rooms were cleaned very well every day while we were at breakfast, and the hotel food was beautiful, only empty plates were collected at the end of the meal. Ok, the hotel may be a little bit older, but everything takes time to make improvements, I would rather have all of the positives that I have mentioned. Thank you to all of the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Lovely location in beautiful sandown but the hotel needs a makeover, also no toiletries in the room and one towel only.

We were a coach of 33 people staying for 5 days. The rooms, although dated were clean, clean bedding and towels and tea and coffee in the room. The staff were absolutely amazing, nothing was too much trouble and were very friendly. Julian should be so proud of his staff. The food was cooked perfectly and enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. There were choices for both meals. I was with 5 friends and we all had a lovely week. We would definitely come back again. Mick organises our trip from picking up by coach, the ferry and the hotel. Well done Mick
