Amended to 5 star based on visit on 28th August 2025 6.30pm only. I was seen by a colleague that I haven't dealt with before and an optician who I had not known. The colleague repairs and arm to my existing glasses and was very attentive when I collected my new ones. Due to finishing times I was seen by another colleague who gave me a lot of help around glasses that were ordered but were not the best suited. He explained about the guarantee.. he wanted me to leave the store for feeling satisfied and reassured.. His customer focused demeanor and professionalism shone through. He later disclosed he was one of the Opticians. My previous 3 star review must stay because it's an honest review overall of my experience upto 16th August '25: I did explain on my recent visit about my previous experienceas follows: The optician was very thorough but the rest was very unsatisfactory. This is not the first time either. This store previously lost my new glasses, had to wait another week or more for replacing. Once walked out after a 45 min delay putting walk in patients in front. Buy one get one free offers shouldn't affect quality of service to that degree.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The optician managed to fit me in at short notice to do extra tests on my eyes after I had a concern with my vision.
There is a good work ethos at this branch and I will use this Specsavers in future. I have used the Newport branch in the past, and whilst I might have been unlucky with staff, I would not use them again.

Unable to repair arms unable to replace frames unable repair lences also replacement lenses are blurred therefore u damage you frame or arms or lens you have to pay for a new pair this has been happening for years I need to move to another companyThe guarantees cover is a waste of time they say you bent frame and the lenses have mist ingrained into them they changed the.but now are blurred vision when wearing the.

Despite getting a confirmation email with the correct details when I got to Specsavers at Ryde they weren't expecting me.Complete waste of a Saturday morning.Won't go there again.

What an absolute disgrace to customer service. I booked an eyetest, ordered glasses, after receiving them i immediatelly had a headache and they really didn't feel right. They told me to come back in the afternoon for a retest, where i have been told my eyesight is most likely between new and old perscription, i just need to get used to new glasses. I had test done somewhere else and as expected my perscription from Specsavers Ryde was not right. I went back to the store to return my glasses and get a refund today and all staff were busy staring at the floor while I was there, i did get my refund, but never got a sorry for all the wasted time and their mistake. ...which could potentially damage my eyesight!

Am very impressed by the expertise and friendly manner of the optician, Gary. I was worried about a problem with my right eye, but was re-assured - thanks to the thoroughness of his testing (which he talks you through) and the state-of-the-art technology used for the optical test equipment. All the staff/receptionists are excellent - very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Brilliant. Lovely helpful people that went the extra to help and explain everything and put me at ease. Very helpful with choosing frames. Very pleased with how they suit my face. Very happy that I got the anti glare coating. Makes a real difference to me.
