Rude, unprofessional, unpleasant and disrespectful.About two weeks ago my husband and I were recommended by our plumber to go to Screwfix in Newport, Isle of Wight branch. Before going there we visited their website and we wrote down about the towel rails we believed they would have in store. We went there and a young man at the counter was trying to help us and every item was not in the shop, he called a rude lady with no manners, uncouth very unpleasant and disrespectful. She came without any greeting or any how can I help you. The only thing she was saying was: go to the tablets or iPads we have at the entrance and chef for the codes, we gave the codes to her. Oh we do not have this, we do not have that and we were asking all the time show us the towel rails you have got in the shop and do not waste our time. Answer: You must look at the screen and bring the codes. She was helpless and useless in a few words. It was very unprofessional and we think, we would not visit Screwfix in the future. It was sad in the end we left the shop completely dissatisfied and disappointed. We do not recommend it. Please do not waste your time going there.

Really unhelpful staff at this branch. I ordered an item online and hadn't heard anything from them so I called in on the off-chance that the item was ready. I gave the reference number to the member of staff. She confirmed that the item had arrived in the store but I could not have it as they had not yet sent me a text message. I explained that I could not come back today but no, it made no difference and I could not have the item I paid for. I left empty handed and have since cancelled the order I shall not be shopping with them again.

Just bought a Titan 150mm Wall Chaser at the Newport Store Isle of Wight. None in stock so had to order it online. When it arrived at the store my partner had a round trip of 32 miles from nr Freshwater to collect it for me. A few days later I opened the packaging, the sellotape looked as if it had been opened. When I opened the case the inside of the case and the tool were covered in brick dust. It was clear that someone had used it already and then probably returned it. When you buy a new tool you expect it to be new not used by someone else. So took it back to Newport store, another round trip of 32 miles. They were apologetic. There were no more in stock at Newport, so they had to order another one which I will have to collect on Monday which will be another round trip of 32 miles. No offer of any compensation or discount for my time or the diesel used. Whole shopping experience a bit of a disaster. Whilst not really the fault of the Newport store as service goes this is just not good enough. Jeff Lister.

New system for picking up click and collect orders, have to put your order number in an ipad, then wait for the mystical pixie bring your stuff. never checked my ID or offered a receipt. I'm not sure how the system saves time, definitely reduces customer service.

Great place, had to return a faulty padlock which was replaced with no fuss at all. In September 2022 the store has installed 2 tablets that you have to place your order on instead of ordering at the counter. This is a frustrating way of working that makes no sense at all and on our recent visit many people were so frustrated they simply walked out. Not good.

Helpful friendly staff 9 out of 10 times they have what you want in stock and generally can get it the next day if not. Always been happy to take a return or an exchange.
