came here for my dads birthday, we loved it!Very filling and tasty filled food, service is great and atmosphere is also really good!Only thing/s : music was a bit loud + I couldn?t really hear myself talk properly and the burger was so filling I couldn?t finish it! (But that?s not really a downside!)

Everything about our dinner was amazing. The servers were great and answered all questions really well and gave good recommendations. The setting was beautiful and you felt like you had plenty of room. The food was INCREDIBLE! We had the surf and turf and it was worth every penny! Will be back!

The Hut was recommended on many Isle of Wight blogs/posts so I booked a table for my family. Overall experience was okay. The location is nice, esp during sunset. The presentation of the food was good and the starters were all tasty. The mains, however, were overpriced for what they were. The Indonesian fish curry tasted like it was made with a store bought paste.Coming from London, the overall ambiance here was just not it for us - very loud, obviously affluent, yacht/boat club type folks. There was a man in the table beside us chatting up two women on the next table, showing off, talking about this boat. The two ladies seems polite but uncomfortable after a while as he was standing beside their table and chatting the whole time with zero spatial awareness. Super uncomfortable to even get to the loo or get out as he wasn?t exactly lean.We didn?t bother with dessert as service got slower as it got busier. For 5 of us we paid around £350 in total with service charge (only one round of drinks). Our server was polite but the rest of the staff didn?t seem to care much as we were leaving and saying thank yous.Ps: They don?t take Amex, surprising for a posh joint.

We had tried to get booked for the last 3 years and this year we managed to get a table. Well worth the wait. The whole experience was amazing.

Had a really great night at the hut on Friday the food was great I had the lobster and my wife had the sole both cooked to perfection the young lady that looked after us was just right with the amount of advice she offered and the speed of service, the views are great as is the atmosphere the whole place has a great vibe which is made all the more obvious by the amount of regulars that was there if your on the Isle of Wight then try to make the hut

I had been wanting to go to the hut for a few months but unfortunately my boat was being delayed as was having a refit. I had moved my dates twice as wasn't possible but the last two times I never had confirmation via bookings team so I had emailed a date for new booking even though I had asked for this to happen. Twice I had a phone call the day before my apparent booking which I was unaware of this date that was confirmed. I have paid £140 for two no shows now which has left a rather nasty felling that I don't want to bother trying again or recommend to any of my friends. More likely to recommend avoiding in case your boat takes longer to be ready to visit the restaurant. Gutted as was really wanting to take my wife here once boat was ready. Now leaves a nasty feeling that I won't ever try again even though all my friends were looking forward aswell but I never had email confirmation that the alternative dates were in fact booked.

A lovely spot and lovely meal but we will not returning for one reason. Dogs. It's all very well saying 'we welcome well behaved dogs' but what about their not so well behaved owners ?! Party one feeding their dog from their plate, much to the amusement of the waitress.Yuk Party two letting their dog sit on a banquette (no,just no) with - presumably - the agreement of the waiter Party three 'accidently' letting the dog off the lead to allow it to irritate/amuse (take your pick) other diners.Hilarious, not Off now to find a restaurant with a no-dogs policy. Some chance these days....nothing against a good looking hound but there are some places they do not belong

Finally managed to get a booking. Came on the hottest day of September. We had a nice round table beautifully decorated with lovely soft cushions and it was in the shade so we didn't get too hot. Our waitress was from Canada originally and was extremely helpful and friendly, making sure we had enough drinks and food. The view over Colwell Bay is amazing and made it even more enjoyable ? the food is AMAZING . We had steak tartar and crispy duck salad starters, lemon sole with new potatoes and the cheeseburger for mains. For pudding we had the lemon tart and the ice cream cone. Amazing flavours and very well presented. Well done ? to the chefs. Lovely atmosphere with music playing, a wonderful place to be. If you haven't been you must, it's fabulous ?? we will definitely be back soon.

Wonderful beach side restaurant. Amazing food. We were seated upstairs and it was a hot sunny day. Luckily they have a retractable roof so they pulled it out to give everyone some shade whilst still having stunning sea views. There was an incredible party going on downstairs with dancing and singing. We'll be back!

A nice restaurant located on the sea side. Young, enthusiastic service and good fish dishes. No rush tent, but make a reservation. The price is above average, dining there is an experience that is certainly worth the evening.

Lovely views and super attentive staff hampered somewhat by average food. I would go for the view in the early evening and the atmosphere, especially on the upper restaurant with its retractable roof, but don't expect anything amazing.

I?d give The Hut 3.5 stars, if Google allowed it. We ate at The Smoking Lobster in Cowes the night before and had a much better experience than here. The food was OK but, although our reservation was at 7:30pm, they had sold out of the catch of the day?and their seafood menu choices are limited enough that this is a major pain. The starters were the best oart of the meal - I had the scallops & monkfish and a couple of other people enjoyed the tacos (which looked delicious and apparently were among the best my daughter had ever had). The main courses were a bit of a let down though - the Lobster Rice looked great but a bit mundane, in terms of taste. On the other hand, the Whole Roasted Bream looked very odd but actually tasted good?but was spoiled by a pretty unimaginative pairing with Channa Masala, of all things. I love channa but this missed the mark somehow. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself has the most fantastic setting, right on the coast but if you?re only in town for one night, go to the Smoking Lobster.

This was supposed to be a celebratory lunch for my wife's birthday. Sadly spoilt by hit and miss service and another customer bringing two very large great danes. This restaurant is in a beautiful location, and we were seated on the upper deck, so far so good. Our server took our order for drinks, two mock tails and a jug of water. The drinks arrived, but water was nowhere to be seen for at least twenty minutes. Our starters were served, my wife's cucumber soup was delicious, but why having asked for bread with it was she served a whole sourdough cob. I settled for the olives, very nice. At this time the dogs arrived and pushed passed and were ushered to an outside table. Before they settled, the dogs slobbered around the table edge, barking upsetting small children on the adjoining table. Our server called the maitre 'd, who spoke to the dog owners, but left them where they were. Ideally they should have been asked to leave. Dogs should not be allowed in restaurants. We were offered a move to another table, but we had started our meal. Our main course was served, both lemon sole which were delicious, however the lad who delivered the fish to the table was asked for condiments, (none on the table) he looked puzzled and my wife explained. He got it half right. For dessert my wife just had coffee, I had tart which was fine, however the service was slow. What had started as a day full of promise had the edge taken off. Incidentally the table at which we were seated was in a narrow gap and irritatingly people constantly pushing past and knocking my chair, didn't help matters.

Superb location made more special by the sunset we had that evening .We had the surf and turf special which was expensive but absolutely delicious.
