We arrived by boat and dropped anchor in Colwell bay - collected by tender by the really friendly Ellie who dropped us to the dock. It was our Son?s birthday and the team looked after us perfectly. We probably chose the nicest day of the year, weather wise, but it was a special visit and one we will always remember.
Thanks to the Hut team for a lovely afternoon.

The best points were the two drivers that picked us up from the Marina. Excellent service Gentleman! Nothing really special about our greeting at the Hut. Shown to a table. It was a freinds 80 th so you would think a little bit extra welcome but sadly not. The food was a real disappointment nothing like the reviews. Yes it was a busy Sunday but the food was mediocre at best. Overcooked fish cold stale Chips and a burger which although was coked Pink as asked for was as dry as old leather. Forgot to mention the Scallops which were so small it was laughable. No Happy Birthday for dessert it was a real shame. Really was not the experience we paid for. The icing on the cake was when we left not one person said Thank you to us. The two lady?s were more interested in talking to each other. Staff training needed in all departments !

Dry fillet steak and Lobster, side of potatoes were undercooked and also dry. We ordered drinks and had to ask waitress twice where they were. table we were sat at had little room and I had to keep getting up to let others pass etc. and I am small! You are paying for the view rather than anything else unfortunately.

Amazing meal for our wedding party this July!
We were getting married on the IOW and used The Hut as a special meal for 50 guests to have a meal and socialise in this beautiful restaurant with views over the sea. We had the whole area downstairs in the lowered area and tables were served separately but it was perfect for mingling and the food was fantastic!
The feedback from our guests was that it was some of the best food they have had in ages. Everyone was so impressed!
The menu was great for everyone including the bride (vegan), veggies, fish lovers as well as the kids that joined us!
We would rate The Hut as one of the top 5 restaurants on the Island and they were so accommodating for our large party and making this meal the perfect start to our mini holiday getaway!

Had a lovely evening here, watching the sunset from the deck. Food was amazing - the king prawns really were tasty. Would also recommend the sea bass! Service was friendly and relaxed; they even brought out a water bowl for our dog. Atmosphere was great, with a couple of birthdays, but nothing raucous. Sides up due to the wind, but temperature was just right with the roof open. Would certainly recommend for a special occasion or as a treat - prices are quite high. But the experience, friendly service and the wonderful food was worth it.
