Family birthday celebration, staff and food were amazing. Gluten free fish and chips was delicious. Even our 8 month old granddaughter was well looked after. Thank you all.

Went to Cowes for a day out and had lunch at the Duke of York, a friendly greeting from Chris's, the food on offer is what i like to call good home style cooking done to perfection, I have no hesitation in recommending the duke of York for a meal and a friendly atmosphere, you will not be disappointed.

We arrived in Cowes for our 10 day break - our first port of call is usually the Duke of York as it?s close to our apartment. Last year we were a little disappointed with the food but I am glad to say it?s back on track! We had the best (and biggest) fish & chips we have had for a while - it was so huge I couldn?t finish mine & didn?t have time for a pud! We are looking forward to Sunday lunch!

Nice pub with less tourists and more locals. Loads of maritime memorabilia on the walls. Friendly staff and people who offer a warm welcome.

Brought my Island fam here for Sunday roast and it was lovely.We all agreed the Crackling was the best. Roast potatoes were actually crispy.My pork was tender so was others chicken and lamb.Veg was cooked just right, even the green beans were still slightly firm.Service was greatToilet was clean with a window cill of spare loo rolls.Strawberry Pav was lovely, so was the choc fudge cake with ice cream.Profiteroles could have had cream or ice cream but they were ok.Will definitely come again.Outside area looks like it would be heaving in the evening, but this afternoon it was raining.Food & drinks: My review above was for our lunch.

Wonderful pub/restaurant the staff are absolutely awesome always great home cooked food the roast on a Sunday is amazing reminds me of my mother's and a good selection on beers with a local and Timothy Taylor's landlord as standard

I visited a few weeks back, the pub itself is nicely decorated, good range of beers. The service was good and friendly. Unfortunately I had my 1st and only meal of the day, the luxury fish pie at midday. Around 4 hrs later I started to feel very ill and proceeded to vomit violently for the next 12-14hrs. I nearly missed an important exam the following morning. Fortunately the examiner understood the severity of the situation and let me sit my exam a few hours after everyone else had finished. I would highly recommend this dish is removed from the menu. I would also be asking the chef some serious questions on how long food is kept before it is thrown away. I really hope nobody else went through what I did as is was horrendous.

lovely pub, very nice staff and decent priced drinks for a local pub. came here with two mates for 4 days for a work trip and the location is so close to all the little shops and very close to the cowes harbour. would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to come and will stay again if i return in the futureFood & drinks: very good
