I had an unfortunately poor experience at this Costa.I arrived a little before they opened as I was keen to get out of the rain and have my morning coffee. At opening time when the lady came outside to put up the signed I said 'good morning' and got blanked.I asked if she was open, and got blanked also, so I walked inside.I stood at the counter waiting to order and after a while she stopped faffing with boxes and stuff and looked at me and said 'what do you want?' no greeting or any other pleasantries. At this point I was disappointed by the poor customer service, but it's ok, it was early in the morning and everyone wakes up on the wrong side of the bed sometimes. She's prob just having a bad day I thought to myself.So I sit down with my coffee. Yet as soon as some of the locals come in, she's all smiles and chit chatting away. Clearly I'd erroneously given her the benefit of the doubt and she just treats people who aren't regulars differently (i.e. poorly) to those who are.

Why is the customer service so rubbish in this Costa!? Compared to the other Island branches. Needs looking into, me thinks.

Coffee was ok, roasted tea cakes were served cold. Not child or pram friendly which was the sole reason we had picked Costa as opposed to supporting local businesses which serve better coffee and food.

Extremely rude server, made some really rude comments about my brothers drink that he had order, ?whatever drink that was?, ?he?s ordered a ££ drink, that?s ridiculous?, really ruined what was supposed to be a nice afternoon. The other barista was lovely.

Dont bother better coffee outlets in Cowes, Having been able to take our dog in before ,we were rudely told no dogs with no explanation . We went to Pier View almost opposite , we were welcomed with our dog and paid over £1 less for coffee

We came into Costa as we have always enjoyed the coffee in Costa. Not on this occasion! The floor under our table was covered with bits of food, grease, dirty napkins etc, as we're most other floors. The disabled toilet was an absolute disgrace! Thought the toilets had to be checked during the day? Will not be returning to this Costa again!

Costa Coffee needs to take this issue more seriously. Flies can carry harmful bacteria, and it is not safe to serve food that has been contaminated.

ANYONE COMING TO ISLE OF WIGHT SHOULD DEFINITELY AVOID GOING TO ANY COSTA COFFEE ON THE ISLE OF WIGHT. THIS IS WHY: 1- STAFF HAVE BEING WORKING WITH LIVE ANIMALS NOT WITH HUMAN CUSTOMERS, 2- TABLES ARE CLEANED ONE TIME PER DAY MEANING CLEAN TABLES ARE SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF LUNCH TIME , SO IS LESS WORK FOR STAFF WHEN THEY ARE FINISHED WORK ( IF ANY ??? ) 3- GOD HELP YOU IF YOU PAID FOR CREAM OR YOU NEED SPOONS OR SERVIETTE, BECAUSE YOU WILL BE DEFINITELY ENDING UP BEGGING FOR A SPOONS OR CREAM OR EVEN WOODEN STICKS ( AND YES YOU SHOULD FIND THIS ITEMS ON SERVING PLACES BUT THEY ARE ALWAYS EMPTY AND TOTALLY COVERED WITH MESS THAT YOU WOULD LOOSE ANY TASTE OR ANY WILL OR ANY WISH FOR ANY COFFEE ANYWHERE ELSE . 4- GRADING OF SERVICE IS NOT EVEN ONE STAR , GRADED BY HOSPITALITY PROFESSIONALS, 5- YOU WILL RISK CONTAMINATION AS HEALTH AND SAFETY STANDARDS TOGETHER WITH FOOD HYGIENE DO NOT EXIST 6- IF YOU ARE STRAIGHT WITHOUT TATTOOS YOU WILL FIND EVERY COSTA ON THE ISLE OF WIGHT HIGHLY INTIMIDATING ( MEANING YOU ARE NOT WELCOME) 7- FLOORS ARE CLEANED ONE TIME PER WEEK MEANING IF YOU DROP FEW CRUMBS UNDER TABLE YOU WILL FIND THEM ONE MONTH AFTER AS EVEN CLEANING ONE TIME PER WEEK IS TOO MUCH WORK. 8- IF YOU DONT ASK FOR ANYTHING AND IF YOU CLEAN YOUR OWN TABLE AND FLOOR AND BRING YOUR OWN MUGS YOU WILL BE FACED WITH STRANGE TASTE IN YOUR COFFEE WHICH MEANS THE COFFEE MACHINE WAS NEVER CLEANED, 9- IF YOU HAVING MOTHERS DAY OR BIRTHDAYS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT GOD HELP YOU AS YOU WILL BE CRYING YOUR WAY BECK HOME 10- IF YOU SEE PEOPLE IN COSTA IS BECAUSE THERE IS NO CAFE CLOSE ENOUGH , BUT THEY ARE DEFINITELY NOT WORTH YOUR TIME , OR YOUR MONEY , OR YOUR HEALTH , OR YOUR LIFE OR YOUR EXPERIENCES , OR YOUR SADNESS, BECAUSE YOU ARE WORTH MORE, SO LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS AND WE WILL GET BETTER BUSINESSES ON THE ISLE OF WIGHT.

Staff look so fed up they never smile, not very welcoming, tables need cleaning, tables not cleaned quick enough after customers leave. The way the staff look at you is like you shouldn?t be there, the rush drinks out and don?t care what it looks like or if they spill the drink. You feel very uncomfortable uneasy and not welcome in this store and the same in the Newport Isle of Wight branch too

Great location on the paved high street. Even have a small court yard to the rear. Had Chai latte. Friendly service, often make use of Costa. Always know what you gonna get.
