I?m really upset with the way a certain staff members treats me, every single time I come into trade an item he makes stuff up causing me to have to make multiple trips and when I try to sell the same item with a diffent staff member it?s not a problem to get my item sold ect to the point I refuse to use this store any longer it is a waste of my time now if you see a tall dark skinned feller I would leave he will be negative and rude and waste your time

Definitely think twice about buying retro games or consoles from this place. I bought an original xbox from here with a controler, then decided to trade it in 3 months later. To my suprise the owner said they wouldnt accept the console because of the controler cable being q bit tired. Having explained its how they sold it to me, he refused to admit he'd sold it to me even though he literally did. Having shopped there for last 7 years to help support the local shop, i wont be coming back - completely unhelpful - didnt suggest any alternatives. Avoid

Hilariously unfriendly staff. Particularly the young girl with the dark hair. I could barely keep a straight face, with her absolutely disgusted look at my existence as I approached the till ?. She didn't once make eye contact and just muttered everything under her breath that she said to me
Still, I wish her well and I got myself a PS5 game ?

Absolutely terrible took on perfectly fine Nintendo switch staff said broke en though I used it the day before and it was fine wont buy a perfectly fine switch and would sell me this
Also massive overpriced I bought a monitor for 85 pound and if I wanted to return it it would only get me 30pond cash

Don?t about £15k trade a year with cex. And WGC is the best. Well at least it was until they stuck in a a temporary supreme leader. He doesn?t have a clue and was just making things up as he went. Saying he couldn?t buy a ps5 pro in because a little bit of plastic that helps it stand was missing. I said no worries buy it as an unboxed or discounted. He actually said we don?t do that. These kids they keep employing are a joke. I have been using cex for 18 years. No worries I sold it for £150 more lol. But always like using cex for the convenience. It was embarrassing to watch lol. You pay such terrible wages I suppose you will get the bottom of the barrel when it comes to workers

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Discriminatory Treatment
I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the treatment I received in your Welwyn Garden City store on 28/11/24 and 1350 pm During my visit, I was denied the ability to purchase a product based on the claim that the person served before me was related to me. This assumption is entirely incorrect, as I do not know the individual in question.
I am deeply concerned by the discriminatory and prejudicial nature of this treatment, which appears to be based on baseless assumptions about my identity. This experience has left me feeling humiliated and unfairly targeted, and I view this as a serious instance of racial bias.
As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect and fairness, regardless of any personal characteristics. The behavior displayed by the staff on this occasion falls far short of acceptable standards and does not align with CeX?s commitment to providing an inclusive environment for all customers.
I would appreciate it if you could investigate this matter promptly and provide an explanation for the staff?s conduct. Furthermore, I would like to know what steps you will take to ensure such incidents do not happen again in the future.
Please provide a written response to this complaint within [reasonable timeframe, e.g., 10 working days]. If I do not receive a satisfactory resolution, I will consider escalating this matter to the relevant regulatory bodies or pursuing legal advice.

Avoid! Read through the reviews. This store is particularly awful. The way they grade the items is beyond a joke. I think an unopened sealed item would be a grade C for some obscure made up reason. I think staff training extends to how to talk down an items worth and not on basic customer service. And be wary of leaving items with them for testing as like other reviews an item was broken by staff during testing. Obviously denied by them. Despite the hassle use eBay. You'll certainly make considerably more money.

First they try to buy your stuff for a cheaper grade, even tho item on display are same condition, got my exchange declined because of an issue they didn?t have when i gave them the AirPods, they must have damaged my stuff, no doubt they are so low rated!

I've used Hatfield and WGC stores and the prices and product's are what you would expect from a.used / refurbished gaming device store. They will give a basic customer service if there is an.issue but you must remeber they are not an electrical device repair store.
All said it is safer and better using them than buying off FB or ebay.

Absolute joke came down from Royston to get a specific game it said they had in stock at this specific CeX came to find out they wouldn?t sell it to me due to them having lost the case 3 days ago

I think items for sale should be double and triple checked before telling customers it can be sold. My son tried to sell his old phone and was told yes, he just needs an adult to accompany him. I made my way down and showed them the same phone, was also told yes, waited outside for 15 mins while they got the cash ready and when I went back inside they said actually no, the camera is blurry. Waste of time tbh. Should have checked from the beginning.

A pleasant transaction. Lots of choice in the store. The staff were friendly. The store was very cold though and the music, although good, was quite loud.

I suppose fine print is an old trusted friend for businesses such as CeX.Tell me this Nikhil, when you go to a shop, and look to buy an item, before you pay for it, do you routinely ask at the counter what the returns policy is? Or would you naturally assume a standard return policy is in place, given the item is in still in the original packaging and not been damaged?Do you genuinely feel your returns policy is fair?IvanBeware of this shop, borderline fraud! I bought an item (HDMI cable), and realised it does not fit my computer. Within 30 minutes I was back in the shop to return the item (still unopened), but was told the item is not refundable (?!?) and I can't get my money back.I don't understand how they can get away with this sort of stuff this day and age. Surely this sort of business is not legal...
