Not the best evening tonight, very disappointed as wanted to treat my parents to a meal for their wedding anniversary.
Service was very slow and food was expensive for what you got.
.The lasagne I must say was tasty but the lump of green at the side of the plate assuming was meant to be a garnish or salad was pointless.! We asked for garlic bread and received tomatoes bruschetta bazaar!!
The lamb chop was so tuff and over cooked it was not edible. We thought we would try a pudding as it?s my fathers favourite part of a meal !! However after being asked if we would like the desert menu we never received it after waiting a long time and watching staff on there phone we gave up and had no pudding !
Quiz was very loud think we would have been better in another area away from the speaker, however this was our decision as there was nobody to seat us when we arrived or to mention the quiz night.
All in all very upsetting and not even an apology from the staff for our complaint earlier in the evening!

Lovely pub but let down a little went for Sunday lunch at 3 most of the meats was sold out and a menu change was a disappointment the chicken is now half the size of what it used to be pointed this out to the server to be told this is a better cut of chicken you basically get half of a single breast lucky for me the pudding was the saving grace would definitely not recommend for a hearty meal shame because the last time I went there is was 5 star

This is not a bad review, just some feedback for improvement as it is quite a nice place.
Pros: nice warm fire crackling provided a lovely atmosphere. Staff were terrific, great with children. Spacious and clean. Sunday roast was great.
Cons: we ordered a cheesecake sphere which in the menu was described as a caramel cheesecake with a biscuit base inside a chocolate sphere with caramel for pouring. What arrived was a chocolate ball with a teaspoon of mascarpone inside (not a cheese cake in anyway). A tiny dusting of digestives on the side. We even had to ask the wait staff if this was how it was supposed to look like. it was nearly £9 for a bit of chocolate and cream.
At the end of an otherwise perfectly pleasant meal, it kind of ruined the experience. I might suggest taking that off the menu or actually serving a regular cheesecake.

What a lovely place. The fish and chips we had were amazing. Plenty of parking and an airy, modern, spacious interior. Polite, efficient staff and great service. Thank you.
Dietary restrictions: Great gluten free menu without any fuss. The plant burger with g/f bun was lovely and the chunky chips are amazing.

Really disappointed that the three IPAs on the menu weren't available last Sunday. The waitress had to get someone senior who explained the ale availability policy, then told me about the guest ale.
The lamb Sunday roast wasn't great; slow-cooked shoulder isn't really a Sunday roast, it was all small pieces of meat when I would have expected slices.
The chocolate salted caramel slice was good.
Vegetarian options: There's a good range of vegetarian and vegan options.

Full disclosure, I was being treated by a friend so didn't pay a dime, but my friend was a paying customer who wanted to take me somewhere nice.
And this is that, pleasant county pub look, easy to get to with ample parking, good range of food on the menu and pretty rapid service.
Had a Sunday roast with a dessert, both very good. I'm going back there any time I'm passing.
