Went on a Sunday evening, only one other table occupied. In a group of six people. Two got their starters within 15 minutes, the others had to wait 35 minutes after asking how long until the food was coming. Potatoes were green however they did swap them for chips without any problem. Mains came out at different times and were finished before we had ours. My husband ordered an extra burger which didn't come and realised half way through eating it. Tables weren't cleared. No apologies or explanation from staff. Would not go back.

There were 6 people. Two people waited 20 mins for starters. Their main meals arrived while others still waiting for starters which arrived 40 minutes after. Two others got their meals after 50 minutes.
The room was freezing cold, the cutlery and tables were dirty and the service appalling.

Visited for boxing day dinner and now I know why the place was empty. The girl behind the bar had no idea what she was doing and had to constantly ask her colleague. Waited an hour for a roast that looked like it was sat there for days. Parsnips were solid, was all cold and dried up, Yorkshire you needed a hammer and chisel for, definitely not worth the £24 and glad i got a refund for the food as that food i would not even serve to my dog. Being under new management what a joke the place has gone down hill from last year and would not go back in a hurry.

Excellent food and very good value with the meal deal as we were staying in the hotel. Got the salt and pepper calamari, rump steak plus a full buffet breakfast the next day for £26! My mum got loaded potato dippers and haddock and chips and the portions were very generous.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, superb service.

The Rising Sun Brewers Fayre offers genuinely tasty food with a great variety of options. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Recommended, especially if you?re staying in the attached Premier Inn.

Had the Sunday carvery yesterday overall not to bad "BUT" roast potatoes not really roast potatoes more like fluffy spuds few was hard in middle as was some of my parsnips just a little under Cooked, gravy could have a little more taste to it as in my opinion lacks that beefy taste, having said all this and I hope management picks up on what I've said and makes slight adjustments. Would like to come back sometime soon.
