Ann Summers has always been one of my favorite lingerie brands, but I can no longer bring myself to shop at your [store location] branch. The customer service is beyond disappointing?it?s downright unwelcoming. As someone who has worked in retail management for years, I know firsthand how vital it is to make customers feel valued, yet every visit to this store leaves me feeling ignored, uncomfortable, and completely unappreciated.
Most of the time, the staff don?t even acknowledge your presence. No greeting, no assistance, no effort to engage. They seem more interested in chatting among themselves at the tills than actually helping customers. And if you dare to interrupt their conversations to ask a question, the looks they give you are enough to make you want to walk right out.
I guess customers are only good when they?re paying. Because the way we are treated the rest of the time makes it?s clear we?re nothing more than transactions.
Like today, for example?I went in to browse the sale. As I entered, I was ?greeted? by three ladies standing at the tills. One of them, dressed in shorts and tights, let out a long yawn as I walked in. No ?hello,? no ?welcome,? just complete disinterest. Instead, they carried on chit-chatting among themselves, paying zero attention to me. Not just me, either. After I entered, a couple and another woman came in, and they received the same cold treatment. The staff were too busy discussing their excitement for the weekend to even acknowledge the presence of actual customers.
And this isn?t an isolated incident. On another occasion, I walked in while two employees?one with beautiful braids?were at the till, completely immersed in scrolling through Instagram and gossiping about a pair of twins they had come across. When I politely said hello, I was met with nothing but a look of irritation, as if I had rudely interrupted their personal downtime rather than simply being a paying customer.
I adore Ann Summers? products, but the atmosphere in this store has become cold, unwelcoming, and frankly, unprofessional. There?s no one to assist, no one to showcase new products, and no one who seems to care whether customers stay or leave. The staff laugh loudly at their own conversations, completely detached from their actual roles, and it?s clear their discussions have nothing to do with work. I understand that retail can be tiring, but the bare minimum?acknowledging a customer when they enter?shouldn?t be too much to ask.
Because of this, I now take my business to other Ann Summers stores, where I have spent a considerable amount of money and have been treated with kindness and professionalism. The ladies in those stores are so sweet, attentive, and genuinely happy to help?an experience that is completely lacking in this particular branch. It?s a shame, because this store has so much potential, yet the customer service drives people away.
It?s incredibly disheartening to feel like an inconvenience every time I step into this store. I truly hope something changes because, at this rate, I can?t imagine I?m the only one who has chosen to shop elsewhere.

The woman who served me was very friendly and approachable. She could tell I was nervous about visiting these kinds of shops and not familiar with some of the products and how they work, so she took the time to explain to me and made me feel at ease . I would definitely give her top stars for customer service.

Came at 17:50 24th of Jan was told the tils were shut, the girl on the door evidently lied and wasn?t helpful even though we said we would be quick. So we asked to speak to the manager, she came storming down, very huffy saying she has someone in the changing room so we couldn?t quickly buy something. There was three staff in total which we pointed out and instead of being professional she tried to argue that she had kids to pick up and twice repeated this trying to make us feel bad as she wanted to leave - completely inappropriate and irrelevant to shutting at 6pm? she very rude and had an attitude. Lost our business and a long term client, will not go back...

It was my first time going into Ann summers so my anxiety was very high but the staff makes you feel so welcome the shop was clean and tidy the staff was amazing so friendly and helpful i needed some advice on bras and one of the lovely staff members called Louise help me and made me feel so comfortable and confident in the bras I was trying on she told me so much useful information about Bras she was fantastic!!! If I could give you more stars I would you guys deserves it! Xx

Went with a couple of mates for a bit of banter and was surprised by how helpful and friendly the employees there were. Giving advice, letting people try some things and being absolutely jolly. The employees know their stuff and aren't afraid to show it.Clean, well organised, and overall a nice little shop. Saw that it has zero reviews so I decided to be the first. Can't fault it.
