The Greyhound is a lovely pub. I am not a local but every time I visit, I am always made to feel welcome. The staff and regulars are always so nice to me. A beautiful pub in a stunning location. The pub is also dog friendly.

Fairly average pub. Looks beautifully rustic on the outside but very grey and bland on the inside. But a lot of people really like pubs like this and it was definitely busy!Extremely average drink selection

A really lovely pub.Had a triple room. Very clean. Bathroom was very small, but had a shower, so it worked. The food at the pub was very good, especially the breakfast. Tim was really friendly and helpful too, which made the stay even better.

Extremely disappointed. We were looking forward to our family Christmas dinner and when we received the bill the deposit had not been deducted. When we questioned this we were told by management this had not been received. They were completely unaware that in order to reserve a Christmas booking, a deposit needed to be taken- despite this being confirmed by email already. We ordered 1 medium wine and when we received a large this was brought to the waitress's attention. We were then told to leave it and the bill would be adjusted accordingly to a medium as we had originally asked. Regretfully, the bill was not adjusted. When we let them know, we were challenged rather aggressively by the manager who argued that it was what we had ordered. He then 'stormed off' which left us all shocked as we were only explaining what had happened. We remained agreeable and polite throughout which is why this behaviour was so unacceptable. On top of this, the food was terrible and the experience was upsetting.Highly unrecommended.

Booking and attending were seamless, with lovely welcomes from mein host and the waiting staff. The menu was varied and all our dishes were cooked to perfection, arranged beautifully and served to perfection. About a third of tables were occupied when we arrived (early in the lunch slot) and atmosphere was peaceful and pleasant. I could write on and on, but it was all very good with a price that was competitive

The positive point was that the staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful. The negative point: I had telephoned the day before to check if a booking was necessary and whether the lunchtime set menu would be on. I was assured that the set menu would be available and it was also confirmed on the website. When we arrived we had no bother finding a table BUT despite assurances that the set menu would be available IT WAS NOT, there wasn't even a special dish of the day, as mentioned, also, on the website. We were very disappointed as we had specifically come for the set menu, as a trial run for another, more important meal. I would have understood it wasn't available, if I had been told, and would have left the visit until a later time. As it is, the menu was no different to most other pubs and I wouldn't bother to go again now. The staff did double check about the menu for me as well.

Myself and a couple of old school friends have been meeting at the Greyhound for Christmas Lunch for the last thirty years or so. It has always been consistently lovely, and today was no exception! A warm, twinkly conservatory/dining room, a warm welcome from the staff, and a really nice lunch. This is a lovely pub venue, situated in a village (complete with ducking pond) in the middle of a country valley. We all live quite a distance away, but its well worth the journey!
