A pretty spot in the village of Tring. My reservations are around the quality of the cooked meals and the value for money. The food was ok, but not sure if it was worth the price. That said, the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. There is a huge selection of elaborate baked goods and the menu does have some good variety.

AVOID AVOID AVOID
I went for brunch with my wife. Was seated at a table for 4, as our food arrived the waitress brough over an elderly couple and said infront of them, we have no other tables can they sit here. Of course I could not say no as the couple was already pulling out their chairs.
When I paid at the counter I complained and was told this is common practice when they are full. If this was the case I should have been informed prior to being seated as i would have gone somewhere else. I was having a sensitive conversation with my wife that I had to stop

Awful experience today, as soon as we arrived we were told we could only have the seats for an hour by an arrogant lady, my wife was given a chipped saucer with her cappuccino, nothing to dry your hands with in the toilet and then to top it off we were charged for 2 large drinks when we ordered regulars.

Nice quirky coffee/ tea shop.
Went for a breakfast, which was really nice. Staff were really friendly with prompt service. It was unusually quiet at the time of visiting .

Nine atmosphere. Cakes are a bit of a con; they look lovely but don't taste that good (dry and far too much sugar). Expensive for what it is.

Unfortunately we didn?t have the best experience here. We wanted to try and new spot in Tring. Menu had a great range. The food was cold. My partner had a full English and it just didn?t have a lot of taste! Definitely sticking to beans and brunch

The food was served on cold plates.
Was told it was a health & safety issue.

Cakes are to die for - we shared one brownie/tiramisu between three of us and it was the best thing I've eaten all month

I was driving through Tring and craved coffee and a (gluten free) treat. I googled what was in the area, and was intrigued by the name 'Black Goo'. Call me wacky, call me weird, but I kind of liked it.
Well, am I glad that my humour is busted, because I was pleasantly surprised by the abundance of gluten free options available. The options were also what I'd describe as 'top-tier' gluten free - cakes, bakes, and chunky loaves! I got two slices of cake (look how chunky!) and a brownie. The fact there were a few cakes from which I could choose was such a joy. The barista was also amazing, and allowed me to sample a small slice of each to help me decide. They were so good, I got two. (I did end up finishing both slices in one sitting - I don't recommend this, but I have no regrets).
I was vey appreciative of the care and attention given to my gluten sensitivity. The baristas all seemed very knowledgeable, and did detail what I could/ couldn't eat in regards to cross contamination. I didn't order any 'savoury' brunch, but there were a lot of options available on the menu I'd be interested to try another time. The coffee is also delicious, and well made.
All in all - just goo to goo!

The breakfast was disappointing and tasted like it had been sat on a hot plate for hours before being served. Hash brown was rock hard and the bacon looked like it had spent most of it's life sunbathing on the beach in Malaga. Didn't enjoy the sausages and the table was sticky. Staff and coffee were nice though.

Poor show @Black Goo, Tring! I read that you opened at 08:30 and walked in on the dot. The server greeted me politely, however after directing me to a seat as I'd indicated eating in, she informed me that the kitchen wasn't open until 9am. Deciding not to wait half an hour to place an order/ start having my breakfast cooked, I walked out and went elsewhere.
