I'll keep it brief. Had to ask the bar person to top up my pint. Had to point out that I was over charged for our meal. Both rectified. I ordered A Beef and bacon burger and the bacon was left out. The place was not busy at all..so what's the excuse? No wonder Witherspoons are smashing it. We Won't be going back.

Early morning breakfast. Excellent! They appear to be opening in time for breakfast again.
This is easily the best breakfast in Stevenage. Getting over a car breakdown I was on my own and by 10 o'clock the place had two groups in. It's big enough to cope with them.

This is one the famous Sports Pub in Stevenage Old Town High Street. It's quite a big pub. This pub will be very crowded when there are football matches. If you want to visit a pub during football matches then there should be a prior booking of the table is recommended. If you are doing prior booking they charge 10 Pounds per person. But they also issue a voucher for 10 Pounds and you can utilise when you visit on the day of booking. So technically you don't lose your booking amount. Drinks are a little expensive compared to other pubs but it's worth it to pay as this pub has a different atmosphere. Along with drinks they also serve food like Burgers, Nachos, Crisps, Chips..... We tasted a few of them and it was quite good.
It's a highly recommended pub. Try visiting once and you will keep visiting regularly.

This is the fifth time that lunch for me at Drapers Arms Stevenage has been a non starter. Unfortunately friends and acquaintances like coming here. Came to lunch on Sunday this week I had ordered a chicken and bacon salad with waffle fries. My companions ordered burgers and wraps. I was near last to be served my meal. My salad should have come with tomatoes, spring onions, cheese and dressing. What arrived was a few leaves of lettuce, one slice bacon and one slice of chicken. No dressing; spring onions , tomatoes or cheese. Sent back and in the mean time my companions had all eaten and those customers who arrived later were served and eating their lunch. Several times I asked the young female server where my lunch was as all they had to do was add the missing items to a salad. She seemed put out and made me feel like I had no right to complain. All I got back from her was it's 5 minutes later with no show I cancelled the order. The young trainee bar manager James looked stressed but managed to issue a part refund on a salad, drink and waffles that cost £19 plus. Yes, I had cause to query this price also. He couldn't issue me with a refund on my payment card so offered cash instead which I accepted part refund. Prior to this several times I had to return food that was obviously microwaved as the centre of the meal was still frozen.Unfortunately my companions like going to the Drapers, so I'm stuck. That day I got a baguette from Simmons for lunch. Please please train your staff properly. The young female server had a shocking attitude towards me.

Ate in this place with 3 friends 24th May 2024 around 3pm , to be fair the establishment does appear clean. Staff a little unenthusiastic and I've given a 3 star on atmosphere as im sure it changes progressively as the day and times pass however, what I can definitively state is the food was nothing short of horrendous. What was advertised as steak was terrible, not cooked as requested and a questionable cut ... the 'steaks' were inedible and left on the plates.. a waste of food and our money.I got the buttermilk chicken wrap .. terrible .. the chicken meat itself was questionableOne friend got the chicken and bacon burger. Gravel is what the coating looked like and as i was told; more palatable !Uncooked chips found their way into the small handful of chips that were providedFinally, the wings were the only things somewhat edible and they too were terribleIn summary if you guys don't want to do food or have little interest in it please just call it a day. Despite the impersonal touch of being required to pay prior to eating and requirement to order at the bar, it is the absolute basics of service to ask a person if their meal is OK at some stage into their meal - which did not happen.I think you need a serious sit down with your 'chef' and I think you need to sample what you guys are serving - I predict you won't like your findings
