Very nice hotel which opened in 2021 in the heart of the city. Even has aircon and triple glazing which Travelodge don't normally. I've been using it ever since it opened except when they went mad with prices for a while, so always check the competition. I have even tried the plus rooms occasionally but they are not normally worth the extra, the rooms aren't bigger, just a few niceties included, the main one being the coffee machine. One year after opening the hotel is beginning to suffer, shower valves are damaged and air conditioner filters blocked. They also seem to have fitted flow restrictors to the showers so they are now not as good as they were.A recent change here is the reduced staffing, so you have to use a new app to check-in and then can either use your phone as a room key or get a real one from a machine in the lobby.

I stayed in a room facing the street. There are two layers of windows. The outer window cannot be opened so the room cannot have any fresh air. There is a small air conditioner. I doubt it works well. I cannot change room.Sound insulation is poor. You can hear people walking upstairs at 1am-2am.The good parts:- check-in with a machine.- friendly staff. It's a cheap option so overall it's ok.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Travelodge hotel, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. The facilities were impeccable, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall ambiance was inviting. However, what truly made my stay memorable was the exceptional service provided by Adina. Her warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail truly stood out. From the moment I checked in until the time I checked out, Adina went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was nothing short of perfect. Her friendly demeanor and willingness to assist with any request made me feel valued as a guest. I highly recommend the Travelodge hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and I especially commend Adina for her outstanding hospitality. She is a true asset to the hotel and undoubtedly deserves recognition for her exemplary service.Rooms: The room at Travelodge was spacious, clean, and cozy, providing a relaxing atmosphere. The facilities were well-maintained, offering convenience and comfort throughout my stay.

My first time at a self check in travelodge. We stayed in a super room which was definitely worth it. We were expecting basic but it was all really nice and clean. The mattress was super comfortable. We had a tea and coffee making facilities, hair drier and shower wash /shampoo in the room. Would definitely go back!Rooms: Spacious, comfortable and cleanWalkability: Central location, 2 mins to the shops and 5 mins to the Ivy and other great restaurants.

We stayed for a night finding the room sufficient for what we needed. The staff varies, some are geniunely friendly and helpful, some are empty in their eyes not wanting to know you.Location is definitely 100% town centre, convenient to walk anywhere. I recommend it for a short stay if all you need is bed and shower.

We had to switch 3 rooms before we got the one that had everything in working condition. The one we got eventually was far from perfect. On one hand I understand that it's the cheapest place in St. Albans but on the other it's still 80 pounds per night. It's really bad overall, really bad.

The room was clean and the staff that I saw were polite and friendly. Shaving socket in the bathroom was cracked. Breakfast wasn't too bad, I like the

This Premier Inn is 15 feet from a very loud night club. The 15 feet is the width of the alleyway separating you from a good nights sleep until 4am. It was a truly horrible experience and this low life company rejected our claim with the weasel words 'external noise does not fall under our Goodnight guarantee'. AVOID PREMIER INN AT ALL COSTS.

A good hotel and the self service technology works well. Had a slight issue with air conditioning being stuck on hot, but the team resolved that quickly for me.

Would not book this if we have to pay for it ourselves. Room is quite small. No cleaning or change of bedding for 5 nights since checked in even though we put out the Top Up sign on door. Bathroom not cleaned so had to sweep it myself. Food was not great as the menu is not cheap £13 for a steak pie and few chips if ordered on its own. However, it is in the centre of town with car park just across the road.

There is nobody here to provide service. It's all self-service.

Standard rooms were perfectly acceptable with a TV and a kettle with tea and coffee. Allows dogs (£20 per pet per stay). Super rooms are bigger and come with a hair dryer, ironing facilities and a coffee machine. There is a pay and display multistorey car park opposite the hotel on Rover Way.You have a choice of using your phone as your room key or printing a key card at the self service reception. We found the key cards far quicker to respond than the phone app, which can be slow to load and didn't always work.Safety: The self-service feature of this hotel means that reception is unstaffed; this can make the entrance insecure and non-guests tend to use the lobby to, for example, charge their phones. The door from the lobby to rooms whilst requiring key access is also unmonitored and readily held open.Food & drinks: Breakfast is available for an additional charge. The main menu is available in the restaurant until 10pm with a limited menu available around the clock.
