Had a confrontational experience with an employee here who was clearly a bit out of his own head when I got into the store 20 mins before closing. I told him what I wanted and he faffed about looking stressed, I paid it no mind as I?m not the type to call somebody out unnecessarily. Once he finally got all my bits together. I took out my cash to pay and he told me, I?d have to pay card as they were cashing up! I have visited this store 1-2 mins before closing for a quick buy in the past and always been able to pay cash after cash up! Nevertheless, as my total was around £18, I told him he can put it through as cash and keep the change off the 20. He was still stumbling about looking distracted when I said I?d grab a mini permanent marker off the till which costs 78p to round off my transaction a bit. He said that?s ok, and once I walked down to pick it up from the other till and came back to the till he was serving me at, he scanned the pen and asked me for the money! I explained that this was supposed to be taken out of the 20 I gave him but that note was nowhere to be seen. At this point, I could see he was getting upset so I told him to just leave it and finish up my transaction so we could be done with it. He then started shouting at me, about how they are about to close and I?m ?messing about?! At this point his colleague, who is always great, came to take over the transaction and even got me my change off his own back, I didn?t even ask for it! He sorted it out quickly and rectified another mistake made by the first guy, who put an item I had ordered for collection the next day, as already collected. Overall terrible Sunday evening experience which has left a bad taste in my mouth!

Quick late minute trip, staff extremely helpful and often cheaper than Screwfix down the row of shops. No issues at all ??
