Decent sized rooms, clean and tidy the reception staff very helpful and friendly as were the breakfast staff can't comment on the other meals only had breakfast which was very nice

Attended an event. Good food, excellent customer service. Clean, interesting building. Very nicely done.Nearby activities: Near to Galleria fir shopping.Food & drinks: Catered event - finger food was plentiful and delicious.Noteworthy details: Parking: car registration must be notified to reception or bar as PCN will be administered if this isn't done.

We booked the botanical room for our son's 8th birthday party, the space was exactly what we were looking for, so the children would play on one side, and on the other, they would have their food. Adults sit sideways to watch their children enjoying themselves with an entertainer. We were happy with the staff's cooperation. Everything was well managed and supported by Ms. Saania. Also, her prompt and positive response to all our queries allowed us to plan this event at this location. The food was well prepared and served hot as required on time. We thank the staff and Saania for making the event memorable.

My partner and I have stayed here twice now, we absolutely love it. Very polite staff and nice, cleans rooms. Cannot fault it. Only thing I could fault is the location, our room was right next to the student accommodation. We have had nothing but noise from them Saturday night leading into Sunday morning. This is not at the fault of the hotel, just students being students.

First time staying at this hotel, and hopefully, not the last. The hotel was immaculate inside and outside. The room was well equipped and comfortable. The staff were attentive (Darren, Louise, and Amy). The food was worth every penny. All in all, it's one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in for some time. We have held our networking at The Comet for the last year, based in The Botanical Room. Not only are the staff fabulous, but the food is delicious and the room has a wonderful vibe. Huge Thank You to Tom, Saania and the entire team for making them run smoothly. Oh and for the delicious cookies!Food & drinks: Yummy cookies and the rest of the food is good too!

I always stay at the Comet when travelling to st albans. Only a short drive but way better value. Service and decor gives it a boutique vibe.

Regularly stay here on business, nice hotel, nice rooms, food is good. However what seems like the bar manager has an issue with anyone in the bar past 9pm, my 3rd stay in as many months and I?m treated the same way, they seem to be unable to hide their dissatisfaction when I move from the restaurant to the bar area after a meal.I like this hotel but would like it more if I was not scrutinised for enjoying their communal areasRooms: Clean and large

We booked the Comet for our guest accommodation for our September 2023 wedding at Hatfield House. We received excellent service and were made to feel really welcome by the staff who knew we were therefore for the wedding. All the rooms were lovely and clean, dinner in the restaurant and breakfast were both lovely and high quality. I booked the conference room for me and my bridesmaids to get our hair and make-up done on the morning which was absolutely perfect, it provided plenty of space for us to get ready. If you are a Hatfield bride, I thoroughly recommend going with the Comet for your accommodation.

I had a lovely night of rest. The property is well located in a quiet area though at 3mn walk from the Galleria mall. The room was spacious and neat and calling for rest and sleep. The bathroom was neat with necessary toiletries. I could take a cup of tea inside my room as there was a kettle, water, tea and coffee besides sugar. The check-in was easy with nice staff. The site is secure and also have a restaurant. It was easy to link College Lane, HIC and UH.

What a shame, lovely hotel, clean room, comfortable, well stocked and perfectly located. It is badly let down by one member of the breakfast staff. Rudely stated that we couldn?t sit in one section as it wasn?t allowed even though we had been told to sit anywhere. When I left our cereal bowls on the next empty table as they hadn?t been cleared, I was met with an extremely sarcastic young lady stating ?are these yours, shall I take them away for you?, as she glared at us. Her statement was all the more unsettling as she had seen me put them there 30 seconds beforehand. She clearly needs to understand the dynamics of working in the hospitality industry, and that the main aim should be to be hospitable. That aside, everyone else was lovely.

I accompanied my grandson from the US to his college drop off as an international student at Uni of Hertfordshire north of London. The Comet is located at the doorstep of The Hartz Uni. The stress and unknowns of College sign in and drop off far from home were greatly eased at The Comet. We had convenience to shopping, and we were grateful for a cool and charming overnight stay. The on site Element Bar & Kitchen offered a lovely dinner and many dining options. Our goodbyes were much easier thanks to The Comet.

Great hotel, great service, spacious, well designed and clean room. Had a meal in the Elements bar which was very good, and goof value for money. Would stay again if in the area. In a busy area, but not disturbed by any external noise.
