Such a shame we went in today for what we thought was unlimited cream tea after comeing in person to check it was still unlimited as we have been here several times before and was told it was still the same by the receptionist and payed our deposit,we were really looking forward to our special mothers day celebrations.we arrived at 3.15 and sat at our table and waited till 3.50 before anymore came over to ask what we wanted we got our cream tea and we ate our sandwiches we don't eat cakes so we asked the waiter for another plate of sandwiches in which the waiter said I will just check with the manager if their will be a charge we were very confused at this point as the receptionist told us it was unlimited, the waiter came back and told us their would be a charge for more sandwiches,I asked to speak to the manager who told us the unlimited cream tea stopped months ago so why did the receptionist tell me on the 11th March when I came in person that it's still on if we were told of the change we probably wouldn't of booked a cream tea and would of had a Sunday lunch instead, the manager gave us another plate of sandwiches but my this time we felt quite upset with the whole situation,we do feel let down today with the situation and sadly we will not be comeing back unfortunately as regular clients and recommending st michael's manor to so many people today it let us down.

I had an evening meal which was very nice with the starter & dessert, however the steak I ordered for the main which was meant to be rare was certainly beyond well done. This therefore put a damper on my evening.

We had an excellent 88th birthday family lunch at St Michaels Manor. The waiting staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, innovative and fresh. The wines were also good. Whilst is was a grey day, the view of the gardens was nice to have.

Not very impressed spent a long time looking and planning for a stay on the winter dinner bed and breakfast, the system lets me get all the way through to booking but because of an event I?m unable to have dinner. Really frustrating it shouldn?t have been available as an option on my selected date if this was the case.

Cooked breakfast fast was served cold, bacon was tougher than leather so was the sausage and eggs.
Must have been cooked the previous morning and then put back in the warmers.
No information in the room about calling the reception or for room service, despite having a phone in the room. No wi-fi password either in the room.
Very generous on towels though, plus the heated towel rail heats very well.

Nice hotel

The hotel is in a beautiful area, surrounded by historical places and authentic buildings.
I stayed with my partner in this hotel just for one night but it was enough to feel the magical atmosphere of this place and I am sure that in the spring it?s even better!
The nature around and the design of the building is gorgeous!
I understand why people get married here!
The staff is the nicest, really helpful & patient.
The breakfast is very nice & the experience itself of sitting in the dining room and looking at the garden through the windows, it for the first time for me that I am experiencing something like this.
Really recommended!
Really recommended!
Rooms: The room felt cozy and the design is beautiful!
I also loved the idea of calling the rooms by nature plants then a number.
Nearby activities: Walking in the park nearby or visit historical places like the cathedral.
The ?city? area is a few minutes walk from the hotel it?s a small area and there?s not much to do, but I am pretty sure that there?s little restaurants worth visiting.
Walkability: Few minutes from the city, beautiful park & historical places.

This location is so tranquil in the heart of a busy and very popular City. We chose St Michaels Manor because the staff have a very personal approach and in our experience the answer was always yes to any question. We wanted a late Brunch. This was accommodated and we were amazed by the selection of offerings. Who knew you could serve a poached egg in so many different ways. The food was excellent, freshly cooked and delicious. The serving staff were attentive and the lovely Maître D' made our experience really special. We will be back again soon, maybe lunch next time! Huge thanks to the whole team

I was disappointed with the experience. The pricing for spirits was particularly unreasonable?some were even more expensive than the cocktails. I found this surprising and unjustified, especially given the standard of the drinks.
Additionally, the service was less than friendly, which further detracted from the experience. While the setting was pleasant, the combination of overpriced drinks and unwelcoming staff made for an overall unsatisfactory visit.
