Poorly performing school. My child sits his GCSEs in three weeks and still hasn't finished his biology syllabus. He is also leaving this school at 16 without any work experience. The state schools out there are much better. Should have pulled my two boys out of this school 2 years ago.

SCC is a decent secondary school, not terrible, but nothing special either. The local state school where I live produces consistently better exam results every year. Ironically, in a school which likes to emphasize it's Catholic ethos so much ,any student who is catholic is very much part of the minority.
Facilities are good, and include newly refurbished classrooms and gym. Most of the teachers are excellent although the school likes to cut costs wherever possible, so if you want your son to be taught by 21 year olds, straight out of university, then this is the school you are looking for.
The school does do an excellent job of enhancing student's soft skills and teaching courtesy and respect.
St Columba's is a good school, just not good enough to justify the ever-increasing fees

This is a great school for boys aged 4-18yrs that accepts students from all denominations despite coming from a Catholic charism

A great school which is inclusive, supportive of its pupils both academically and pastorally. Very friendly and purposeful. Very strong stance on issues of bullying, Good academic results against a range of ability in the intake. Promotes a rounded developement, including the spiritual and the very very vast majority of boys love the place. A great community spirit - see it at work at their annual Columban Fayre in November.
