We received a warm welcome, experienced kindness and encountered an uplifting spiritual message when we attended the St Albans Salvation Army service last Sunday. Our Ukrainian friend who we are hosting felt immediately included as members of the congregation expressed genuine interest in him and his circumstances and made him feel at ease.The St Albans Salvation Army is about to open a Community Café in 2024 which I feel will provide a much needed space for a wide range of people seeking not just a very affordable good quality cup of tea or coffee, but also a chat and if required, a low threshold approach to further psycho-social and pastoral support.We will certainly return to explore this place further.
