Well located for town, rooms were comfortable and clean, one of the rooms, however, had a bit of a musty smell, (1st floor 127). Such friendly staff in the restaurant and at check in. Kids loved the breakfast ?

I went on a school trip for a week. The rooms, upon arrival, were clean, but the floor was full of dust, as was the furniture. Every time we asked to clean the room, the staff was not available, or wrote down the room number, only to find it twice as dirty the next day, with the sheets still not changed and the bins full. Only on the last day, before going, they cleaned the garbage that we had to leave outside each room. Breakfast was okay, typical English breakfast. They told us to report the problems, so as to avoid negative reviews, but when some complaints came, nothing changed.

I was on a school trip for a week and in all these 7 days they cleaned our room so to speak only once, only changing the towels and sheets left as they were. Breakfast I must say was okay. Staff not

the sheets were dirty, there was hair, hair and various stains (one stain was menstrual blood) there was even pubic hair under the blanket when we entered, the windows cannot be opened and furthermore there is no availability from the women housekeeping, when we told them that the sheets were dirty they didn't change them but turned them over and didn't even apologize for what happened. When we asked to clean the rooms they didn't do it, we were only given one towel (there were 4 of us), and they left the dirty towels on the floor.regarding breakfast, when the food runs out they don't put it back, it often runs out, and if they put it back they make you wait a quarter of an hour.

check in was at 3pm and they gave us the rooms after more than an hour and a half, we asked 5 times to clean the room but it was never done, there is a horrible smell in the rooms and you can't open the window They are not suitable for accommodating groups of students. The cards to enter the room did not work and after 10 minutes of changing them, one did not work again. The hotel's wi-fi does not work.

Stayed in a premier plus room, the decoration was looking tired. No espresso pods, ultimate WiFi was wasted as my 5g signal was stronger. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good.

Good points: Staff are friendly and the room is well equipped for a short business stay. There is a kettle in the room and a bathtub in the bathroom. The room had a desk and a sort of chaise longue type thing in addition to the bed. It doesn't feel cramped and there's plenty of room to open a suitcase. There are plenty of sockets. The room I stayed in was quiet and bright. (There was some humming from the air conditioning system or something, but it wasn't super loud and I slept well.)Bad point: this is a centrally managed chain similar to Travelodge and when things go wrong the staff might not be able to help you. I was hoping to take advantage of the early check-in option, but it turned out there wasn't a room available. This wasn't so bad, except that although the staff did try to check me in a bit early once the room had been cleaned, they weren't able to do so due to a problem with their computer system. They were friendly and even offered me a cup of tea, but the problem with this kind of chain hotel is that you're not dealing with a hotel but with a website, and if the web site doesn't function as expected you can be left in the lurch, despite the staff's best wishes. So basically it's a good place to stay but be aware that you're always taking a risk with these chain places.(Although while I'm here: the way the early check-in option works is really stupid. You can check in early for a small fee, but only if there's a room available, and there's no way to find out if it's an option until you turn up. I arrived at 6am after a 12-hour flight, so I was really hopeful about checking in in the morning and relaxing in the room. If I'd been able to check availability in advance I could have made other plans instead of having to wonder around St Albans all day.)

Good hotel, but some reception staff doesn't know what they doing. My and my friend room access card stopped working on the 2nd day of our stay. We were also woken up in the middle of the night by fire alarm, because someone burnt something in the kitchen?

Very poor cleaning. I always found objects from previous guests in the room. The A/C switch on by itself in the middle of the night, being impossible to sleep cos the cold. No additional heater was provided. Staff doesn?t help.

Since this review I stayed Friday night ? 9/2/24. I have to highly praise the wonderful hardworking Reception and Catering Staff. The hotel was so busy due to a popular rugby team booking in.The breakfast was amazing unlimited choices. We had dinner the night before which was amazing and such a menu selection to choose from.Thank you everyone for the lovely welcome and I highly recommend staying in this hotel close to St Albans Town and 12 minutes walk from St Albans City Station and Abbey Station. Parking is available at a charge.Well done everyone for your hard work and dedication which has not gone unnoticed. Friendly and hardworking staff like this makes the Premier Inn St Albans a wonderful experience for everyone.Thank you ?This was a previous review:I haven't actually stayed here because I am local but I have seen the rooms which look really nice and have sat in the lounge for a drink with friends in the past. Just off St Peter's Street and very close to all facilities, approximately 12 minutes walk from St Albans City Station and same from Abbey Station. Great location for touring locally.

WOW! What an amazing service by Dan (Daniel) on 04/01/24!!!From the check-in to dinner time, he turned our first day to a great experience. He adds value to Premier Inn St Albans.Food & drinks: On 04/01/24 dinner time, food was amazing. Best pizza ever and delicious katsu curry chips side and sundae. Thank you chefs!

Breakfast was really good, the staff were pleasant and helpful. The beds were clean and comfortable but the overall cleanliness wasn't as good as other Premier Inns I have been to. Carpets lifts etc.
