I've been to st albans pets at home 3 times for dog worming tablets & flea tablets, on all occasions I've been told there is no one on duty to sell them to me, there is only one person trained to sell them & he is off sick....there should be some one on duty at all times who is trained to sell these products, they are not there for decoration.

This Pets at Home location is fantastic, especially with the Vets for Pets clinic conveniently located upstairs on the second floor. Since the Borehamwood branch closed, I?ve moved my 2 dogs here, and I?ve been really impressed with how helpful and professional the veterinary team is. There?s also a Groom Room upstairs, which is always a great option for keeping pets looking their best.
The staff at Pets at Home are consistently friendly, cheerful, and polite. It?s always a pleasant experience visiting the store.
They carry a wide range of quality pet food at great prices, and the VIP Club rewards members with exclusive discounts on many items. Whether you?re shopping for essentials or treats, they?ve got everything a pet could need. You?ll also find small animals like hamsters, rats, bunnies, and guinea pigs, as well as a nice selection of fish.
The store is well-stocked with pet toys, cages, enclosures, food, and accessories. The team is welcoming and knowledgeable, always happy to offer guidance on pet care and responsibilities. I?ve bought two hamsters here over the years, both lived long, healthy lives.
There?s plenty of free parking available for up to 3 hours just in front of the store, which is a huge plus. The store is wheelchair accessible, although the elevator is currently out of service. Hopefully, it will be repaired soon to make access easier for everyone.

My children and I attended an animal workshop today and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Harvey and Tom who hosted the session were exceptionally friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They were very patient with the children, showing them how to handle the guinea pigs and rats gently. Could not praise the team highly enough. I will not hesitate to recommend this shop to anyone who needs products or services for their pets! I will no doubt be coming back to shop for our pet cat one day!

There were hamsters on display with too little space and not at all enough bedding. The cages were clean and looked well taken care of. The fish tanks had no enrichments. The staff were very nice, but I don?t think the welfare standard was high enough for the animals there. It?s a shame people look at it and think that?s an acceptable standard for rodents.
