“I have always found one consistent theme, or dynamic in Cotswold shops that's missing in nearly every shopping experience.When you walk in you don't have to ask where things are there is a calmness, and order that encourages you to take your time.The staff will say hello but, give space, to look and try things on.Knowledge, I can remember being in there South Cerney shop in I think it was late 1980s and the man serving me had just come back from the Dolomites testing equipment, and had real experience of the products.It was the same last week when I went in to look at walking boots.I would say that paying a bit more for the knowledge and experience of the staff is still worth it.”

“My go-to for camping and outdoor gear in St Albans. It’s quite a small store but has plenty of stock and has all the essentials you need. A few reviews have commented on staff rudeness but I’ve found everyone to be friendly and helpful without any pushy sales tactics. One observation is that the place always seems to be on sale or “closing down”. I’m told the current “closing down” is to rebrand as GO Outdoors (both brands are owned by JD Sports).”
