My go-to for camping and outdoor gear in St Albans. It?s quite a small store but has plenty of stock and has all the essentials you need. A few reviews have commented on staff rudeness but I?ve found everyone to be friendly and helpful without any pushy sales tactics. One observation is that the place always seems to be on sale or ?closing down?. I?m told the current ?closing down? is to rebrand as GO Outdoors (both brands are owned by JD Sports).

Customer service leaves very little to be desired in this branch.
The woman with the very distinctive eyelashes and fringe has a severe attitude problem and quite frankly should not be left to tend to customers. It?s clear there are other places she?d rather be, but more than anything her tone is appalling.

I had an incredibly disappointing and upsetting experience with the Millets store in St. Albans. A DPD driver, despite me being home, lazily chose not to deliver my ASOS package to my house and instead dropped it at this store for pickup.
My husband went to collect the package for me, on the 21st of August, showing all the necessary info, including the pickup pass. Despite this, he was refused the package because he didn't have my ID. Fine, he went back home, retrieved my ID, and returned to the store. But when he showed my ID, the manager at the store refused to hand over the package because our last names aren't the same. This is ridiculous and outdated. Do all married couples need to share the same last name now?
What was even more infuriating was that my husband presented not only my ID but also his own ID, proof of purchase, the email with the pickup pass, and even our marriage certificate. Despite this, the manager at the store treated him with suspicion, implying he might be attempting to steal the package. This felt like blatant racial profiling, as my husband is a black man. It's beyond unacceptable to treat someone like a criminal when they've provided every bit of evidence needed to collect what is rightfully theirs.
The manager and store employees were useless throughout this issue. They finally handed over the package, but only after my husband persistently and rightfully argued his case.
This kind of behaviour is unacceptable. Do better.
