We were placed in the downstairs private room but it was awfully cold and despite many requests to shut the door or adjust the air con we were cold all night.
The food, when it arrived on cold plates, was absolutely delicious but we had to stare at out mains for ages until the side dishes arrived.
There were a few other service glitches which is such a shame at a nice restaurant serving great food.

Just happened to pass after our visit to the Cathedral - we were lucky enough to get a table as this is, quite rightly, a popular place. The ambience is very pleasant with an open, airy feel with staff who are attentive and very welcoming. We enjoyed a smashing lunch - the gazpacho being wonderful, followed by chicken Caesar Salad - huge - and very tasty. Their set lunch menu is such a bargain and the whole experience is to be recommended if visiting St Alban's.

It's exactly how restaurants should be, offering different dishes which you may or may not like.
Definitely worth a visit.
Not 5 stars as I think it could be more competitively priced.

Came here for Sunday lunch expecting better.
The oil served with the sourdough tasted of nothing; I have no idea what it was and thankfully I have never tasted oil like it before.
The greek salad was very underwhelming and expensive at £16.50, especially as the portion was very small.
The Chicken Caesar salad was made with free-range chicken and was good.
The 'Eton Mess' consisted of a bowl of cream, swirled with a red sauce, with a few pieces of strawberry and meringue incorporated. Essentially, you were eating cream.
Very disappointing.

Really loved this place. Super helpful and efficient staff, varied and creative menu. The fooc was really very good all cooked to order too Great value set menu. Non alcoholic drink options delish.
Very good with a food allergy. Unusually they actually listened to the person with the allergy which I can tell you is unusual

Tucked away in St Alan?s is a diamond!
When we stepped in we were immediately greeted by friendly and professional staff. The food was excellent, everything really fresh, high quality and tasted incredible. It might be the best fish and chips i?ve ever had in a restaurant.
The space is welcoming and clean and comes with Air con which was very welcomed on such a hot day! Have relatives in the area so will definitely be back next time!
